Outdoor Adventure Spend the day in the great outdoors with

activities including archery, canoeing, zip-lining, climbing tower, and an awesome aerial course.

Babysitter Training Will you be, home alone, babysitting, or

taking care of younger siblings this summer? Join us for a fun, interactive opportunity to become a confident & responsible sitter. Participants receive a bag, first aid kit, and other supplies to equip you as a prepared

babysitter!

Taco Garden Test out your green thumb and create your own taco

container garden to take home. We will transplant vegetables, paint plant markers, take a walk to explore the community gardens, harvest some greens, and learn to cook tasty tacos using fresh vegetables.

Our workshops/events are open to ALL YOUTH. You do NOT have to be a 4-H member to attend. However, if you’re in 4-12th grade & interested in joining, we always welcome new members to our 4-H family. There are 10 awesome clubs to choose from in Dickinson County!

Hold the Applause Experience theatre from behind the

scenes and become an actor/actress on stage. Don’t miss your chance to get a behind the scenes tour, warm up with the cast before the show, enjoy a performance of “Beauty & the Beast”, learn from the director /scriptwriter, Q&A with the cast, check out a green room, and create your own role on stage. Parents are welcome at 2:45 pm to view a skit put on by participants.

Junior Explorers Come explore the outdoors and learn about

habitats through a variety of games and activities. Dip water from the lake to search for tiny creatures. Find out about fish from fins to food and do some fishing! Make a fish hat and learn about how creatures adapt to their habitats.

Dickinson County Fair Join us for fun filled

days at the fair and take in events like 4-H animal project shows, farm chore Olympics, concerts, and a shooting sports demo. See the static exhibits on display in the Expo. You can even bounce on inflatables, play bingo, enter a team to play human foosball, & more!

Color Run Participate in our annual 5K and run, walk, jog, or hop

your way to the finish line in this fun event. Wear white and see how colorful you become! This event is just for fun, no official race times will be recorded.

Clover Cookie Factory Someone did not follow the recipe and now our cookies are flops! We need your help to uncover the missing ingredients! Come explore with us as we experiment with tongue mapping and help solve the cookie mystery. This is one tasty mystery that you won’t want to miss!

Summer Events SunRun Iowa State University students are putting the finishing

touches on the world’s first practical Solar Utility Vehicle. Named “Penumbra,” this solar-assisted electric vehicle has been made to change the future of travel and is making a stop in Dickinson County! Learn about the science involved in creating the Penumbra and get a chance to sit behind the wheel of this innovative solar car!

$15 Challenge Shop with us as we explore fashion trends and

Udderly Fun Dairy Day Join us for a tour of Jones Dairy during

Dairy Month in June! Visit the milking parlor, see what dairy cows are fed, check out a day in the life of a calf, and experience the farm petting zoo! Explore dairy from farm to table and become a dairy scientist as we make homemade ice cream to enjoy.

Drone Discovery Soar to new

Taxidermy 101 Spend the afternoon learning and practicing

staging skills as we tour Matuska Taxidermy. We will dive into native Iowa fish habitats and study defensive coloring. Replicate a native species’ color pattern or create your own using air-brush technique then create an “underwater world” for your air-brushed fish to call home!

Photography Fun! Spend the first

morning learning about how cameras work and taking pictures with a photography professor from Iowa Lakes Community College. Be sure to print a photo and bring it along the following day. On day two each participant will mount their photos with Carol from Carol’s Cottage.

Don’t miss day three and the chance to tour a professional photography studio!

High School Youth Conference Every June, almost 1000
