depending on the reason. If the person has epilepsy becasue of an brain injury at birth or after no. but there are other reasons for seizures.

Page 30: different sicknesses

HOW DANGEROUS EPILEPSY?

Epilepsy can be very dangerous you can die from a single seizers

There is no cure for epilepsy though depending on how you got it you can have surgery

Page 38: different sicknesses

LIFE EXPECTANCY?

Reduction in life expectancy can be up to 2 years for people with a diagnosis of idiopathic/cryptogenic epilepsy, and the reduction can be up to 10 years in people with symptomatic epilepsy.

Page 39: different sicknesses

SYMPTOMS?

The main symptoms of epilepsy are repeated seizures. There are many different types of seizure, depending on the area of the brain affected. People with epilepsy can experience any variety of seizure,

CHICKEN POX/VARICELLA

Page 42: different sicknesses

HOW DO YOU GET IT??

Chickenpox is caused by the varicella-zoster virus which also causes shingles.

Page 43: different sicknesses

HOW IS IT TRANSMITTED?

Chickenpox is spread through direct contact with an infected person or indirectly through an infected person's cough or sneeze.

Page 44: different sicknesses

IS THERE A CURE?

There is no cure for chickenpox, and the virus usually clears up by itself without any treatment. However, there are ways of easing the itch and discomfort, and there are important steps you can take to stop chickenpox spreading.

Page 45: different sicknesses

COUNTRY MOST AT RISK?

There are about 90 deaths a year from chickenpox in the United States.

Page 46: different sicknesses

BACTRIA OR VIRAL?

contagious infection caused by the varicella zoster virus

Page 47: different sicknesses

CONTAGIOUS RATE?

If exposed, a person who has not already had the disease or a vaccine has an eighty percent chance or higher of contracting the virus. It takes roughly two to three weeks for an infected person to develop symptoms.

Page 48: different sicknesses

HOW DANGEROUS IS CHICKEN POX?

Most children with chickenpox completely recover. But it can be serious, even fatal, for babies, adults, people with weakened immune systems, and other groups. Be proactive. Get vaccinated if you are not protected against chickenpox.

Page 49: different sicknesses

RECOVERY TIME/RATE?

Children can return to school or daycare after about 1 week. All of the blisters should be scabbed before they go back. The scabs do not have to fall off. Dark spots from chicken pox will usually fade in 6-12 months.

Page 50: different sicknesses

WHAT CURE IS OUT THERE?

Over-the-counter Medications. Use non-aspirin medications, such as acetaminophen, to relieve fever from chickenpox.

Page 51: different sicknesses

LIFE EXSAPCY?

Normally, people recover fully from chickenpox and it does not affect life expectancy.

Page 52: different sicknesses

SYMPTOMS?

The general symptoms of chickenpox can include fever, fatigue, headache, dehydration, itchiness and a blister-like rash that begins on the face and trunk of the body. The rash usually spreads to the rest of the body.

Page 56: different sicknesses

HOW IS IT TRANSMITTED?

The condition can be transmitted by the parents genes having diabetes

Page 57: different sicknesses

IS THERE A CURE?
