How do I get digital access using my access code?An access code is a series of numbers that grants a single user digital access to one title for a period of time, most commonly a year . There are different access codes for teachers and students . A teacher edition access code unlocks all the things a student has, plus access to teacher resources .

Example:

Alex has the access code 1234-5678-9012-3456 and uses it to unlock access to EntreCulturas 1 Student Edition for 1 year . Once Alex has used this code, it cannot be used again .

What is a batch key?A batch key is a single code (a series of numbers) that allows you to unlock many access codes at once .

Example:

John is a school administrator and purchased codes for several classes . Instead of getting many individual access codes to hand out, John gets one batch key that he unlocks (see “Unlocking Batch Keys”) . Once he has unlocked the batch key he gets codes for his French, Spanish, and Latin classes . John can now give his teachers those codes by assigning (see ”Assigning Codes”) them to the teacher’s Learning Site accounts where the teachers can manage the codes themselves .

Who should use a batch key?The person who unlocks the batch and subsequently distributes codes to other teachers and students is called the code administrator . The ideal person to administrate codes depends on the size of your school . A school administrator is ideal for distributing access codes to many different classes as they can see how many access codes are used and remaining from one location . If this doesn’t work for you, a teacher can administrate the codes as well . Always remember to make sure all teachers know who is managing the access . If your school only purchases for one class, then the teacher of that class is ideal .

What is the Codes Portal? The Codes Portal is a section of the Learning Site where access codes can be assigned to other teachers and students . You can access it by going to learningsite .waysidepublishing .com/codes or by clicking Codes on the green navigation bar near the top of the Learning Site .

Searching for CodesThe search tool is great for quickly finding the codes you need . Access codes can be searched by textbook title, student or teacher edition, owners, code numbers, and code status (i .e ., “used,” “unused,” or “active”) .

Searching by Edition

Access codes are sorted alphabetically by textbook title, so student editions usually appear first on the list . To find a teacher edition access code, type “teacher edition” into the search bar and click the Search button .

NOTE: For books such as Tejidos or Triángulo Aprobado, you may need to search “Libro del profesor” to find the teacher edition .
