OverviewThree-dimensional digital treatment planning technology has improved patient diagnosis as well as implant planning, placement, and restoration. New advances with surgical planning software and intraoral scans have streamlined the treatment planning process to fabricate surgical templates, guide implant placement, and differentiate your clinical practice.

Course participants will experience hands-on 3D treatment planning using NobelClinician® Software to address a variety of challenging cases with real-life patient scenarios. Participants will virtually treat multiple cases to understand digital treatment planning and the digital workflow for single-tooth, multiple-teeth, and full-arch treatments. Additional highlights will include, clinical considerations for guided surgery, strategies to improve treatment collaboration, increasing referrals, and deploying more effective consultation techniques to increase patient acceptance.

This course is appropriate for clinicians (and dental technicians accompanying a clinician) who would like to leverage the benefits of 3D digital treatment planning technology and guided surgery.

After this one-day course, the participant will… – Gain an understanding of how the integration of CBCT scans with 3D intraoral scans versus traditional 2D radiographs improve patient diagnosis and treatment planning.

– Understand how to manipulate CBCT scans (DICOM) with intraoral scans (STL) in NobelClinician® (a surgical planning software) to develop a SmartSetup (a digital waxing) for treatment planning.

– Understand how to improve team collaboration and expand referrals through an integrated treatment workflow that connects all treatment team members, including the restorative dentist, prosthodontist, oral surgeon, periodontist, and dental technician.

– Understand how to streamline the number of patient visits and shorten chair time by eliminating radiographic guides and diagnostic waxings during CBCT scanning to fabricate surgical templates.

– Know how 3D treatment planning can help reduce possible adverse patient outcomes and mitigate risk through CAD surgical templates for precise implant placement versus traditional freehand techniques.

– Know how to increase patient acceptance and generate higher conversion rates through the use of digital consultation tools to more effectively communicate treatment plans.

Speaker information Christopher B. Marchack, DDS Dr. Christopher B. Marchack is a 1987 graduate of the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry. He received his prosthodontic certificate from the University of Southern California in 1992. Dr. Marchack belongs to numerous professional organizations including the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Prosthodontics, the American College of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the San Gabriel Valley Dental Implant Study Club, and the Southern California Osseointegration Study Club. He has written numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals relating to the restorative aspects of implant dentistry. Dr. Marchack is on editorial review board of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. He has lectured nationally and internationally.

Dr. Marchack has been interviewed on local and national television news programs pertaining to dental procedures. In 2008, Dr. Marchack was the recipient of the The Judson C. Hickey Scientific Writing Award, given by The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, for the best dental technique article for 2007. Currently, he has a full-time practice, in Pasadena, California; is the founder and current director of the San Gabriel Valley Dental Implant Study Club; is past co-director of the University of Southern California’s Odontic Seminar; is associate clinical professor at the University of Southern California in the Department of Continuing Education; is adjunct assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences; and is clinical instructor, at the University of California San Francisco, School of Dentistry, Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences.
