Dameskoshuis sal die reis na jou nuwe hoofbestemming saam uitleef en nuwe

herinnerige bou. As Primaria van Dinki wil ek jou eerstens gelukwens met jou keuse vir jou nuwe horison in sig, 'n keuse om jou studentelewe op

een van die beste maniere ooit te begin en waar jy aan die einde kan sê NWU-PUKKE “waar jy

graad kry, met lekkerkry, klaarkry.” Ons koshuis se leuse spreek vanself :“If you can dream it, you can

do it.” Gryp elke geleentheid op jou horison, stamp jou kop die sewende keer maar staan op die agtste keer. Hier stap jy as ‘n sterker en ‘n merkwaardige vrou uit na die mensdom daar

buite!. Ons koshuis strewe daarna om die ideale waarde van ‘n dame te koester deur stylvolle

dames te kweek wat aktief betrokke is by dit wat hul doen en dit sal aanpak met absolute trots en

die voorbeeld sal stel hoe ‘n Dinki dame die eenheid in verskil kan uitbeeld.

Ek los julle met 'n gedagte wat baie na aan my hart lê: “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you

reap, but by the seeds you plant.” Ek daag jou as eerstejaar uit kom plant jou eerste saadjie by Dinki Dameskoshuis en groei in die merkwaardigste rooi roos wat die NWU-PUKKE nog ooit gesien het. Ek

Women's Residence is now here to fulfil the journey to your next destination and build new memories together. As Primaria of Dinki I would like to congratulate you on your choice with your next horizon in sight, the choice to have a student

life at one of the best Universities ever, NWU PUKKE “waar jy graad kry , met lekkerkry ,

klaarkry”. Our hostel’s motto speaks for itself: “If you can dream it, you can do it. " Take every

opportunity on your horizon, bump your head even when it is the seventh time but the eighth time you will stand up. Here you will walk out as a stronger

and a more remarkable woman! We believe in dreams. Our hostel aims to help our ladies grow by being stylish women who are actively involved in

what they are doing and will approach life with absolute pride and will set an example on how a

Dinki lady can be part of a unity.

Wat is ʼn intrekkerpakket?

’n Intrekkerspakket behels ’n kombinasie van studente-aksies wat elke voornemende eerstejaarstudent kies

om aan deel te neem. Nie een van hierdie aksies is verpligtend nie, wat beteken dat studente slegs betaal vir

dit waarin hulle wil en gaan deelneem. Die onderskeie intrekkerspakkette maak dit ook vir studente moontlik

om met slegs een betaling die betrokke kostes te dek.

Wat is koshuiskas?

Koshuiskas is ’n eenmalige bedrag wat deur voornemende koshuisinwoners betaal word wat hul deelname

aan verskeie studente-aksies (sport, kunste, JOOL, instandhouding, opedag, ens.) deur die jaar wil verseker.

Wat word by klerasie

ingesluit?

Let daarop dat elke koshuis sy unieke klerasiepakket spesifiseer (bv. 2 gholfhemde, 1 broek, 2 paar kouse,

reënbaadjie, rugsak, ens.

Wat is die doel van die oorpak (Ovie tydens

JOOL)?

Die oorpak moet vir veiligheidsredes (Beroepsveiligheid en gesondheid-wetgewing vereis dit aangesien

daar gesweis word tydens die bou van die JOOL-vlotte) deur elke persoon wat die JOOL-plaas betree, gedra

word. Oorpakke kan wel gekoop word sonder om JOOL-kaartjies te koop of om aan JOOL deel te neem,

aangesien die oorpakke ook vir ander geleenthede benut gaan word.

Wat behels JOOL?

JOOL behels nie net studentepret en plesier nie. JOOL het ook ’n sterk sosiale bewustheidsonderbou: “Jou

Onbaatsugtige Opoffering vir Liefdadigheid”. Jou JOOL-kaartjie verseker nie net jou deelname aan hierdie

onvergeetlike studentebelewenis en energieke prosessie nie; dit gee jou ook toegang tot die JOOL-plaas.

Nie net eindig die vlotoptog hier nie; dit is ook die plek waar twee polsende rock-konserte die laaste twee

aande, asook ʼn vuurwerkvertoning op die Vrydagaand, aangebied word.

Wat is Eerstejaarsdinee?

Die Eerstejaarsdinee is ’n swierige en eksklusiewe spoggeleentheid vir eerstejaarstudente. Hier kan hulle

hul beste voetjie voorsit en mekaar beter leer ken. Hierdie dinee is jaar na jaar ’n besliste hoogtepunt en is ’n

absolute moet-bywoon vir voornemende eerstejaars!

Dorpskoshuise Pakkette:

Dorpkoshuisepakkette is vasgestel op R1500 en sluit R500 vir koshuiskas en R1000 vir klerasie in. Hierdie

basiese pakket (Opsie A) moes reeds met webregistrasie betaal gewees het. Opsie B tot E kan betaal word

soos die betalingopsies blad dit aandui mits u reeds finaal geregistreer is.

BETALING OPSIES:

Elektroniese betaling kan al reeds gedoen word. Ons wil u aanmoedig om betaling so gou as moontlik

aftehandel.

Dit kan kontant of per tjek (Tjeks moet asb. soos volg uitgemaak word aan: Noordwes-Universiteit, dit mag nie aan die koshuis uitgemaak

word nie. Namibiese en buitelandse tjeks word ongelukkig nie aanvaar nie) betaal word in die aangewese lokaal by die koshuis.

Dring asb. aan op ʼn kwitansie aangesien dit dien as bewys van betaling.

OPSIE 3: KONTANT & BANKKAART BETALING

Gelde word betaal by kassiere in gebou F1 in Lovers Lane met die Eerstejaarsontvangs.

ʼn Kwitansie word vir u uitgedruk en moet dan by die koshuis ingedien word as bewys van betaling.

Ons raai u aan om nie die prosedure te volg nie aangesien die rye lank is en om vir kassiere te vra om twee kwitansies uit te druk

aangesien u die een gaan indien by die koshuis en dan self nie ʼn bewys het nie.

OPSIE 4: HEFFING OP STUDENTEREKENING

Hierdie vorm word geteken by die koshuis met aankoms waar die gelde op die studenterekening gehef sal word.

Alle beurshouers (NSFAS ingesluit) moet hierdie vorm teken, mits anders gestel deur beursooreenkoms.

What is a residence package?

The residence package includes a combination of student activities which each prospective first year

can choose to participate in. None of these activities are compulsory which means that students only

pay for that will they will participate in. The different packages also make it possible for students to

cover the costs with only one payment.

What is residence fund?

Residence fund is a once-off amount which is paid by prospective residents who want to ensure their

participation in various student activities like sport, arts, RAG, maintenance, open day, etc.

What is included in the clothing package?

Take note that each residence has their own unique clothing package (ex. 2 golf shirts, 1 short pants,

2 pairs of socks, rain jacket, back pack, etc.)

What is the purpose of the overall during RAG?

The overall is necessary for safety reasons (Workplace safety and health-legislation requires this due

to the fact that people have to weld when building the RAG-float) and should be worn by every person

that enters the RAG-farm. The overalls can be bought without the need to buy a RAG-ticket or to

participate in RAG because the overalls is used on other occasions as well.

What does RAG entail?

RAG is not only fun and games, it is a big charity event. Your RAG ticket lets you participate in this

unforgettable student experience and energetic parade and also gives you access to the RAG-farm.

This is the place where the float parade ends and it is also the place where two rock-concerts takes

place on the final two evenings of RAG-week. There is also a firework show on the Friday evening.

What is First years formal?

The first years formal is a fancy and exclusive event for first year students. This is an opportunity to

get to know the other first years better. This formal is definitely a highlight each year and should not

be missed!

Town Residence packages:

Town Residence packages are set on R1500 and include R500 for residence fund and R1000 for clothing. This basic package (Option A) must be paid when registering on the web. Option B to E can be paid as indicated on the payment options page, provided that your registration is final.

OPTION 2: FEES ARE PAYBLE AT THE RESIDENCE ON ARRIVAL

Money is paid at the residence on the day of arrival.

It may be paid in cash or check in the designated room at the residence. (Checks must be made out as follows: North-West

University, it may not be made out to the residence. Namibian and foreign checks are not accepted.)

Please insist on a receipt as it serves as a proof of payment.

OPTION 3: CASH & BANK CARD PAYMENT

Money is paid at the cashiers in building F1 in Lovers Lane on the day of arrival.

A receipt will be given which has to be handed in at the residence and serves as the proof of payment.

We advise you to not follow this procedure due to the fact that the queues are long and you need to ask the cashiers

to print two receipts as you need to submit one at the residence and then you won’t have your own proof of payment.

OPTION 4: FEES ARE CHARGED TO THE STUDENT ACCOUNT

This form is signed at the residence on arrival and then the fees will be charged to the student account.

All bursary holders (including NSFAS) should sign this form, unless otherwise stated by the bursary agreement

Meal Package: During the R & O program we get caterers to provide food. This is optional, but we recommend it very

strongly. Some girls do not eat healthy on their own. Sometimes they do not eat at all, because there is too little time for them to go home for dinner and be on time for the busy schedule.
