FLOWERS: Flowers are needed for the church

and chapel next weekend. Donating flowers for

one who is deceased or to honor someone on

La “Quinceañera” es la celebración tradicional de

vida de los quince años de una joven hispana.

Para esto los padres solicitan una Misa de Acción

de Gracias a Dios por el don maravilloso de la vida

y pedir la bendición de Dios en esta etapa crítica

Cualquier joven de la parroquia puede solicitar la

Baptism: You must be registered and attend-

ing Mass weekly at Blessed Sacrament Catho-

lic Church for at least three months prior to

the sacrament. Baptisms are not celebrated

during Lent. Baptism Class: (for child’s par-

ents and godparents) Class is held in the par-

ish hall on the third Thursday of each month

at 6:30 p.m. Both parents and godparents

must attend. Call the parish office to pre-

register for the class.

First Communion: Preparation oc-

curs in the first and second grades.

Registration for Religious Educa-

tion for those not attending a Cath-

olic school takes place in August.

Confirmation: Preparation usually occurs in

the seventh and eighth grades. Adults are

asked to call the parish office.

Marriage: You must be registered

and attending Mass weekly at

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church

for at least six months prior to pre-

paring for the sacrament. Couples

are asked to meet with the priest and

begin formal preparation at least six (6)

months before their tentative marriage date.

Please contact the parish office prior to making

any social plans.

Anointing of the Sick: The sacra-

ment is celebrated individually up-

on request. If you or a family

member have been admitted to a

hospital, please call the office upon

admittance if you would like to re-

ceive the SACRAMENT OF THE

SICK. If you are scheduled to go to the hospi-

tal and would like to receive the Sacrament of

the Sick prior, please call the office to set up

an appointment. If you have a SACRAMEN-

TAL EMERGENCY CALL for a priest and the

parish office is closed, please call the office

(843-556-0801). After hour calls are handled

by our answering service, who have been given

instructions on how to reach a priest for a Sac-

ramental emergency. They will continue to try

and reach someone until they succeed.

The parish welcomes all newcomers

and invites you to register. Registra-

tion forms are available in the parish

office, at the back of the church on the

right side and at blsac.org. Those

seeking to receive the sacraments of Baptism, First

Communion, and Confirmation must be registered,

active members of Blessed Sacrament Parish for at

least three (3) months prior to being able to cele-

brate these sacraments. Once a child from our

parish family finishes High School, we ask that he/

she registers individually as an adult member of

the parish, and we encourage him/her to partici-

pate as fully engaged stewards of the parish.

The criteria for “Active Parishioner Status” is as

follows: *Weekly participation in worship through

attendance at a weekend Mass evidenced by your

weekly envelope in the offertory, *and active in-

volvement in a parish or school ministry, * and

participation in Grateful Sacrificial Giving. If you

give online, please turn in your envelope at Mass

and check "I give online" Thank you. No use of en-

velopes for four months will place a person or fam-

ily as inactive members.

Children Envelopes are mailed to registered chil-

dren grades 1st-12th grade. Children, especially

receiving a sacrament, will need to use their enve-

lopes. If your child is not receiving envelopes,

PLEASE call the office. Boxed envelopes are avail-

able for children K-3 to K-5, call the office to pick

them up.

Godparents/Sponsors must be registered for at

least three (3) months prior to being a Godparent/

Sponsor and must be fully initiated into the Catho-

lic Church. If married, he/she must have been

married in the Catholic Church. For details go to

blsac.org. Call the parish office to request a spon-

sor letter. You should call at least 2 weeks prior to

needing the letter.
