SESS ONE’S OWN PHYSICAL CON-DITION BEFORE EACH DIVE. CIR-CUMSTANCES SUCH AS COLDWATER TEMPERATURE (LESS THAN50F), POOR PHYSICAL CONDITION,MULTIPLE DIVES IN SUBSEQUENTDAYS, WEARINESS, USE OF ALCO-HOL, DRUGS, OR MEDICATIONAND DEHYDRATION MAY IN-CREASE THE RISK OF DECOMPRES-SION SICKNESS. PLEASE AVOID ALLTHESE SITUATIONS AS WELL ASANY OTHER THAT MIGHT ENDAN-GER YOUR LIFE: EVERYONE HAS TOBE RESPONSIBLE FOR ONE’S OWNSAFETY!

WARNING: this instrument should beused only by properly trained and certifieddivers. No computer will replace properunderwater training. Please remember that

a dive’s safety is only guaranteed by a cor-rect preparation.

WARNING: The Leonardo computerby Cressi is designed for sport diving only. Itis not intended for commercial or profes-sional use, requiring longer dive times andgreater depths. Diving beyond the parame-ters of sport diving dramatically increasesthe risk of decompression sickness.

WARNING: Before using the compu-ter, please check the battery life status andthe visibility of the LCD display. DO NOTdive if the instruments’ indications are notperfectly clear and, first of all, if the batteryis low.

WARNING: While diving, be equippedwith a depth gauge, a manometer, a divingtimer or watch and dive tables. Please alwayscheck your diving cylinders’ pressure to be fit

WARNING: Do not dive using Nitroxmixtures without checking the contents andcorrect O2 percentage (FO2). After doingso, set your computer with the mixture(s)’value so that it may process the decom-pression computations. Please be advisedthat the computer only accepts FO2 valuesto the nearest whole number.

WARNING: Before diving, check in-strument parameter settings.

DANGER: Leonardo always keepsthe latest oxygen setting set. It is veryimportant for diver's safety to alwayscheck this parameter before each dive.

DANGER: CRESSI DISCOURAGESNITROX DIVES WITHOUT PROPERTRAINING. NITROX DIVES WILL EX-

POSE THE DIVER TO DIFFERENTRISKS THAN THOSE OF AIR DIVES,INCLUDING SERIOUS PHYSICALDAMAGES AND, IN EXTREMECASES, EVEN DEATH.

DANGER: AS A SAFETY MEASURETHE COMPUTER UTILIZES A PO2 SETAT 1.4 BAR EVEN FOR AIR DIVES. IF ITIS NECESSARY TO INCREASE THESAFETY MARGIN, IT IS POSSIBLE TOSET PO2 TO LOWER VALUES, UP TO1.2 BAR, BY DECREMENTS OF 0.1 BAR.

WARNING: after a dive with Leonardoset in Gage mode (depth gauge-timer), theinstrument will not make saturation and de-saturation computations during the subse-quent 48 hours.

WARNING: avoid any dive presentingvery risky profiles, such as "yo-yo" dives, dives with reversed profiles or several sub-sequent dives during subsequent days, sincethey are potentially dangerous and presenta higher risk of decompression sickness!

WARNING: Currently, no validatedscientific literature allows to dive more thantwice a day for periods of one or more weekswithout the risk of decompression sickness. For your own safety, it is important to avoiddiving for more than two times a day.A rest of at least 2 hours between two sub-sequent dives is mandatory. The next/repeti-tive dive shall be shallower and its minimumduration shall be 15 minutes.

WARNING: please utilize the most con-servative safety factor any time you areaware of factors that might increase the riskof decompression sickness. By doing so, youwill dive more conservatively and safety.

NOTE: while flying, the instrument mustbe stored in the pressurized cabin.

NOTE: Cressi reminds that all sport divesmust be conducted within the no decom-pression limits and at a maximum depth of132 ft, limit of sport dives. Exceeding theselimits dramatically increases the likelihoodof decompression sickness.

Introduction.

The Leonardo computer by Cressi is a multi-functional instrument for sport diving. It willsupply any wanted information on depth, divetimes, decompression status, ascent rate andsurface interval times between dives. Nitrogenabsorption and release is continuously proces-sed by its sophisticated software, taking intoaccount the quantity of inert in the differentmixtures which can be used. Such informationis displayed on the instrument’s large display, thanks to the PCD (Priority CompartmentDigit Display) System, allowing an easy and di-rect “dialogue” between the diver and thecomputer, ensuring a clear understanding of allthe data needed at any given time and a per-fect readability in any situation. The computeris provided with clock and calendar, a versatile

WARNING: the computer maintainsthe PO2 setting until it is manually reset bythe diver on different values.

NOTE: by varying the maximum PO2 setand the percentage of oxygen in the FO2mixture, the computer indicates the maxi-mum depth which may be reached.

WARNING: The PO2 is set by the ma-nufacturer on the default value of 1.4 bar,for both air dives and Nitrox dives. Thisway, the safety of the diver is ensured byfollowing the most conservative values re-commended for sport dives. However, it ispossible to select another value PO2 value,as indicated in the chapter related to Nitroxdives. The value set will be stored in thecomputer until the diver resets it.

NOTE: by varying the PO2 set, the com-puter indicates the maximum depth whichmay be reached with that mixture.

It is possible to change the setting of the Nitroxmixture also during the surface interval (withdesaturation in progress), but only after 2 mi-nutes from the start of the interval.

This is a very important feature, especially fordivers who perform a series of subsequentdives (for instance trainers), which enables tochange one's mixture after having dived, for in-stance, once with air, without having to waitfor complete desaturation.

WARNING: Once the percentage ofoxygen FO2 has been set, it remains storedin the computer until it is changed again.

DANGER: Leonardo always keepsthe latest oxygen setting set. It is veryimportant for diver's safety to alwayscheck this parameter before each dive.

DANGER: If you dive again after aNitrox dive, it is fundamental for one'ssafety to check for the type of mixturecontained in the cylinder, setting theFo2 of the computer according to thatmixture.

DANGER: Do not dive with cylinderscontaining nitrox mixtures whose per-centage of oxygen has not been perso-nally checked.

22

DIVE SAFETY FACTOR (SF) (im. 6)

The Safety Factor is an additional parameterwhose purpose is to make dives safer based onthe existence of personal risk factors which in-crease the risk of decompression sickness. Thediver can set it on three values: SF0/SF1/SF2.The factory setting is SF0, i.e. disabled.

WARNING: Enable and set a highersafety factor (SF2/SF3) whenever you areaware of conditions which may increase therisk of decompression sickness. This way,non decompression times will be shorterand the dive will be more conservative, en-suring a greater safety.

DEEP STOP (im. 7)

There are different diving teaching methodolo-gies and decompression theories. Each of thosehas been developed according to importantscientific concepts, lab tests and practical tests. Some of those, during specific dives, supportand require DEEP STOP, while others do notcontemplate this type of decompression pro-file. Leonardo is factory set on DEEP STOP. Ifyou want to disable it, just press the button untilyou reach the DIVE SET mode, press and holdto enter the mode, press to browse until DEEPSTOP flashes. Now press and hold until“Deepst” “ON” is displayed. Pressing, OFF isdisplayed and the arrow icon on the bottomright disappears. Deep Stop has been disabled. The computer automatically returns to themain menu.

23

ALTITUDE (im. 8)

When diving at a location above sea level, it isimportant to check that the appropriate alti-tude has been set. Once entered the DIVE-Smenu, reach the parameter altitude “Alt. 0”. Adigit flashes next to Alt. Press and hold; thescreen shows the corresponding altitude levels, indicated with:

ALT. 0 (no mountain) - da 0 a 700 mALT. 1 (1 mountain) - da 700 a 1500 mALT. 2 (2 mountains) - da 1500 a 2400 mALT. 3 (3 mountains) - da 2400 a 3700 mEach icon indicates that the computer has au-tomatically changed its mathematical modeldepending on the altitude reached, providingreduced curve times with the increase of al-titude.In case of dive at an altitude higher than theone where the diver usually lives, the body

experiences alterations due to nitrogen over-saturation which must rebalance with the ex-ternal environment. It is important to remindthat, due to the lower partial pressure of theoxygen in the atmosphere, our body needsan acclimatization period. It is therefore re-commended to wait at least 12/24 hoursafter arriving at a location above sea level be-fore diving.

DANGER: Leonardo does not auto-matically handle dives at a locationabove sea level. Thus, it is mandatoryto correctly set the altitude level andrespect the acclimatization period be-fore diving.

DANGER: Diving at altitudesgreater than 9,842 ft. above sea levelinvolves an increased risk of decom-pression sickness.

PLAN MODE: Dive planning (im. 9)

While on the surface, it is possible to go to thePLAN function in order to visualize, depen-ding on the mixture used (Nitrox or air) theremaining time available at different depths, without having to make decompression stops(safety curve). The values are given both forthe first of a (possible) series of dives and du-ring the surface interval between two or moresubsequent dives; in such case, Leonardo takesinto account the residual nitrogen, thereforereducing the times in the safety curve. To ac-cess the PLAN MODE, once the computer ison, press the button until PLAN is displayed.Pressing and holding the button it is possibleto access the function. The screen displays asafety curve (no decompression times) relatedto the different depths between 30 ft. and 157

ft, with manual steps of 10 ft., achieved bypressing the button. Wait for a few seconds toreturn to the main screen.

NOTE: the PLAN function will be switchedoff if the computer shows Error.

GAGE MODE: Depth gauge and timer(im. 10)

The computer is provided with a third pro-gram called GAGE (depth gauge and timer)that may be used for both apnea (free divers)divers and for the use in technical dives. In thiscase, the instrument provides just the divebasic parameters, i.e. depth and dive time. Itdoes not make tissue saturation and de-satu-ration computation, which must be program-med and computed by means of propersoftware and/or tables. Cressi reminds you

that sport dives must be carried out within theno decompression guidelines, and at the ma-ximum depth of 132 ft., which is the limit ofsport diving: to exceed such limits dramaticallyincreases the risk of decompression sickness!

WARNING: The Leonardo computeris designed for sport diving only. It is not in-tended for commercial or professional use, requiring longer dive times and greaterdepths. Diving beyond the parameters ofsport diving dramatically increases the riskof decompression sickness.

DANGER: Cressi discourages divingwith gaseous mixtures other than air wit-hout proper training. The use of “techni-cal” multi-gas mixtures may expose thediver to different risks than those of sportdiving, including serious physical damagesand, in extreme cases, death.

WARNING: After a dive in GAGEmode, the instrument will not make satu-ration and de-saturation computations forthe following 48 hours.

DANGER: Should you decide toreset the instrument by accessing thesystem mode, the nitrogen memorywill be cancelled. Therefore, the in-strument will not be able to computethe following dive. Before using thisfunction, wait for at least 48 hoursafter the last diving activity.

WHILE DIVINGCOMPUTER FUNCTIONS (im. 14-15)

The computer can be set with three dif-ferent functions:

1) DIVE AIR if dives are performed with airand you want to use a decompression com-putation.

2) DIVE NITROX if dives are performedwith Nitrox and you want to use a decom-pression computation..

3) GAGE if you do not want to use a de-compression computation.

NOTE: The Leonardo computer is factoryset on the DIVE AIR program, with the mix-ture’s O2 value on 21% and PO2 on 1.4. FO2 values different from Air 21% activatethe computation program Dive Nitrox.

DIVING WITHIN NO DECOMPRES-SION LIMITSDIVE AIR function: Dive with air. (im. 14)

The Leonardo computer automatically startsthe DIVE AIR program at a depth exceeding3.93 ft.. During a dive within the no decom-pression limits, the display will show the follo-wing information:

1) Current depth value (Depth m.).2) Non decompression time (No Deco min.).3) Max depth reached (Max m.).4) Elapsed dive time (Dive.T min.).5) Ascent rate indicator. 6) Indicator of altitude level (if set)7) Current temperature, expressed in °C or °F.

Additional important information may be ob-tained by pressing the button during the dive:

1) Maximum PO2 set.

2) Oxygen percentage of the selected mixture(Air if FO2=21%);

3) Maximum depth which can be reached de-pending on the maximum PO2 set.

4) Safety Factor SF.

DIVE NITROX FUNCTION: Dive withNitrox (im. 15)The Leonardo computer keeps the setting ofthe percentage of Oxygen Fo2, until the divermanually resets it to different values. It is im-portant to understand that:

Artificial respiratory mixtures may ex-pose the diver to significant risks, unlessthey are perfectly known, analysed andstudied. It is mandatory to understand

that THE MIXTURE BEING BREATHEDMUST BE EXACTLY EQUAL TO THEONE SET ON THE COMPUTER. OT-HERWISE, DECOMPRESSION AND TO-XICITY INFORMATION provided by thecomputer WILL BE DANGEROUS FORTHE LIFE OF THE DIVER. Before, after, and during a Nitrox dive, it is mandatoryto verify the percentage of the Oxygen sothat it exactly corresponds to the one inthe cylinder.

BEFORE A NITROX DIVE.The Leonardo computer always keeps the DIVEAIR program switched on, until the diver sets itfor the use with Nitrox mixtures (chapter DIVE-SET MODE: Dive parameters setting). In thiscase the display will show the Nitrox icon (pic-ture 15) which will stay on during the dive anduntil Leonardo remains set on Nitrox parame-ters. Once the Nitrox program is on, it is neces-

DANGER: Do not dive with cylinderscontaining Nitrox mixtures withoutchecking their oxygen percentage.

WARNING: : Check the FO2 valueset on the computer prior to diving! This is done on surface by means of themain screen PRE-DIVE and the DIVE SETscreen which allow visualization of the pre-viously set parameters.

WARNING: Under the same dive con-ditions, a Nitrox mixture requires longer nodecompression times than air. It is recom-mended to comply with the maximumdepth allowed by the selected Nitrox mix-ture.

DIVING WITH NITROX

During a Nitrox dive within the no decompres-sion limits, all the information related to the astandard dive with air will be provided, as well as(picture 16):1) NITROX dive indicator2) Graph representing CNS O2 toxicity levelThe second screen, after pressing the button, displays the same settings as the DIVE AIR but,of course, concerning the nitrox mixture used.

CNS TOXICITY DISPLAY

The Leonardo Cressi computer is able to displaya graph of the oxygen toxicity level for the Cen-tral Nervous System. The toxicity level is rela-ted to the partial oxygen pressure and to thetime of the diver's exposure to high partial oxy-gen pressure (PO2). The picture 16 representsthe display column, consisting of a 5-segmentbar, which shows the increasing amount of ac-cumulated oxygen. When all the segments are

LEONARDO LIBRETTO 105X80 INGLESE:Layout 1 7-06-2011 10:11 Pagina 40

41

lit up, 100% of the maximum tolerance allowa-ble to the CNS has occurred and serious dangerof hyperoxia exists.

It is important to understand, monitor, and con-trol the oxygen toxicity level. In order to reducethe risk of oxygen toxicity, Leonardo displays agraphic bar, easy to read in any situation. Whenthe oxygen level reaches warning values, next tothe maximum allowable toxicity (correspondingto 5 segments out of 5 lit up), the graph startsflashing along with the Nitrox writing, and a tem-porary alarm starts sounding, showing the pro-ximity of a CNS toxicity level. If the situationremains unchanged or worsens (100% of allo-wable toxicity), the bar and the writing continueto flash and the temporary sound alarm is re-peated until, ascending, the partial oxygen pres-sure decreases below 0.6 atmospheres. Thegraph stops flashing, yet the alarm is entered inthe Logbook.

NOTE: The result of the oxygen exposurecomputation is approximated to the nea-rest whole number.

DANGER: do not use hyper-oxyge-nated mixtures in diving or decom-pression without having attended therelated training courses. The NitroxBasic license enables to use just thestandard hyper-oxygenated mixtures(Ean 32 and Ean 36, respectively calledNitrox 1 and Nitrox 2), within the nondecompression limits.

PO2 ALARM (im. 17)

The computer is able to constantly monitoranother basic parameter relating to oxygen, that is O2 partial pressure value (PO2). Oxy-gen toxicity may be caused both by an exces-sive exposure (CNS toxicity, seen in theprevious chapter) and by exceeding the maxi-mum Po2, which is exceeding the maximumdepth allowed by the mixture used. As alreadyseen, the PO2 limit value is set by the diver ina range between 1.2 bar and 1.6 bar. Leonardoconsiders the 1.6 bar value as the partial pres-sure maximum allowable limit and, accordingto the used mixture, automatically signals themaximum depth which may be reached. Re-member that even by using air, you may reachthe oxygen toxicity limit. Such limit varies ac-cording to the set PO2. Leonardo is manufac-tured with a preset value of 1.4 bar, whosecorresponding maximum depth is 188 ft. in air.

It is possible to set the computer on other PO2values, up to a maximum of 1.6 bar. To warnthe diver about the excess of Po2, when rea-ching the limit depth relating to the set PO2(1.2 bar to 1.6 bar), a sound alarm will startwhile the Po2 icon will be flashing, indicatingthe current depth. As soon as you return to adepth shallower than the limit one, the soundalarm stops, current depth and the Po2 iconstop flashing. The latter icon remains lit up du-ring the residual part of the dive, in the LOGBOOK and in the PRE DIVE screen.

ASCENT RATE (im. 18)

The ascent rate is shown on the display by anarrow indicator at the centre, operating ac-cording to the table on the picture 18: If, du-ring surfacing, the maximum allowed ascentrate is exceeded, the display will show threearrows, showing the increasing level of the as-cent rate. Additionally, the alarm will sound, the SLOW icon will flash, as well as the arrowindicator. In this situation, surfacing must bestopped until the SLOW icon disappears andthe display returns to standard conditions.

DANGER: Surfacing too fast drama-tically increases the risk of decompres-sion sickness. Cressi recommends, atthe end of each dive, a safety stop of 3minutes at 10 ft– 20 ft., which will beassisted by the computer (see nextchapter).

SAFETY STOP. (im 19)

Leonardo is programmed to automatically si-gnal a safety stop after each dive at a depthgreater than 32 ft., as recommended by thetraining centres and the most recent studies ondiving physiology. A 3 minute stop should becarried out at a depth between 20 ft. - 10 ft..

The stop is indicated by the display with theSTOP icon; the display, in this condition, cle-arly indicates the duration in minutes of thestop and the depth in meters or feet. Thesafety stop is not mandatory, yet it is stronglyrecommended if, for instance, the maximumascent rate is repeatedly exceeded. Cressi al-ways recommends to respect it, in order toavoid safety issues.

NOTE: During the safety stop, the maxi-mum depth can be displayed pressing thebutton.

DANGER: At the end of the safetystop, many divers use to quickly reachthe surface, sometimes even inflatingthe Buoyancy Control Device. It is avery severe error which may lead todecompression sickness. The last me-ters before surface in fact are the mostcritical and the percentage variationsof the pressure are significant. The lastsection of the ascent to surface in factshould be covered in no less than a mi-nute.

DECOMPRESSION FOREWARNING(im. 20)

Every time the time available within the curve, shown on the display by the NO DECO icon, decreases to 3 minutes, Leonardo warns thediver. The digit with the remaining minutes andthe NO DECO icon flash and a sound alarm isissued. It means that the diver is approachingthe no decompression limits. A decompressionis required.

DEEP STOP. (im. 21)

In order to avoid the risks related to the mi-crobubbles forming during the ascent, Leo-nardo is able to suggest a DEEP STOP of 1 - 2minutes (in case of dive with decompression)at variable depth depending on the dive pro-file. During the dive, if the profile requires it,DEEP STOP is displayed and an acoustic signalis issued. The stop icon with the depth and thetime in minutes is displayed.

DIVING OUTSIDE THE NO DECOM-PRESSION LIMITS (im. 22)

DANGER: Do not use this instru-ment to dive beyond the no decom-pression limits! Cressi discourages theuse of this instrument for decompres-sion dives.

In the event that you have exceeded the no de-compression limits, Leonardo will assist withspecific information related to surfacing and re-lated decompression information.Upon violating the no decompression limits, the computer will issue a sound alarm, and thedisplay changes as in the figure 22, providingthe diver with the following information:

1) Stop icon with the writing DECO, showingthat the no decompression limits have beenviolated and that decompression stops must beperformed. The arrow indicating UP flashes.

2) Depth of first decompression stage (thedeepest), given in meters (m) or feet (ft.). Itmay vary from a maximum of 78 ft. to a mi-nimum of 10 ft., by steps of 10 ft..

3) Time in minutes for the first decompressionstage (the deepest).

4) TOTAL icon, indicating the total ascent time, that is the time required to ascend to thedeepest stage, respecting the ascent rate,PLUS the stop time at that depth and at anyother subsequent stop (including the deepstop if necessary), PLUS the safety stop time,PLUS the time required to reach the surfaceafter completing the decompression stages.

5) “DIVE. T” icon giving the total time spentwhile diving.

NOTE: In this case, the maximum depthcan be displayed pressing the button.

DANGER: NEVER ascend above a de-compression depth. To avoid this situa-tion, you should ascend to a depth slightlydeeper than the stage decompressiondepth requirement. You should considerthe amount of gas needed to successfullycomplete all decompression requirements.During rough sea conditions, it may be dif-ficult to comply with the decompressionstage requirements without exceeding it.Cressi recommends that the shallowestdepth (nearest the surface) be at depth ofabout 20 ft., even though decompressionwill take slightly longer. Leonardo will auto-matically calculate this.

Omitted Decompression stage alarm (im. 23)If the decompression stage is missed by surfa-cing above the depth given by the computer,an alarm will sound and the down arrow of thedecompression icon will flash on the displayuntil the diver descends back to the properdepth or below it. In the opposite case, that iswhen the diver goes below under the stagedepth by a specific amount, an arrow flashes, indicating that it is necessary to go up. Thecomputer allows a maximum time of 2 minu-tes to correct this dangerous situation; duringthis time, the alarm will keep sounding. In theevent that the diver does not descend to theproper depth (after 2 minutes) Leonardo en-ters the ERROR PROGRAM. The “STOP” iconflashes and the instrument won’t be usable forthe next 48 hours. The only functions working

will be Logbook and History. Later, in the PREDIVE screen the “STOP” icon, the DECO wri-ting and the stop icon with the up arrow flash. This means that the decompression stage hasbeen omitted during the last dive. The LOGBOOK will store the same warning, indicatingthat in a specific date the dive with a specificnumber has been carried out without the de-compression stage.

DANGER: Should this happen, youmust not dive for the next 48 hours. Inthe event that you feel any symptoms of de-compression sickness, you should contact theDAN (Divers Alert Network) and your localhyperbaric chamber centre, providing asmuch data as possible about the dive.

GAGE FUNCTION(depth gauge/timer). (im. 24)

The Leonardo computer is equipped with athird dive computing program (GAGE). Thisfunction is especially useful for technical dives, yet it is useful as well for apnea (free diving). When the Gage function is enabled, Leonardodoes not perform any saturation and de-satu-ration computation. It only operates as a basicinstrument indicating dive depth and time, aswell as some accessory data. In this condition, proper decompression software must be utili-zed according to proper dive tables. Cressi re-minds you that sport dives must be carried outwithin the no decompression guidelines, and atthe maximum depth of 132 ft., which is thelimit of sport diving: to exceed such limits dra-matically increases the risk of decompressionsickness!

4 - ON SURFACE AFTER DIVINGDATA DISPLAY AND MANAGEMENT

This chapter deals with all the “on surface” functi-ons, including data processing after a dive withDIVE AIR, DIVE NITROX or GAGE function. Byrepeatedly pressing the button, it is possible toactivate the following functions: LOGBOOK(dive log), HISTORY (dive history) and PCLINK(Data transfer to PC by means of interface).

SURFACE INTERVAL. (im. 26)

After a dive with DIVE AIR or DIVE NITROX,when you reach depths above 4 ft., the displayprovides the following information:

1) Surface interval given in hours and minutes(SURF.T)

2) Desaturation time (DESAT) to be respectedbefore embarking on a flight (in hours andminutes).

2) NO FLY icon. It means that flights or travelto higher altitudes than the current altitudemust be avoided, until the icon disappears.

3) Max depth reached in the latest dive.4) Duration of the latest dive.5) Alarms (if any) issued during dive (ascent

rate, partial pressure of the oxygen)6) Indication of the altitude (if applicable).7) DECO indication (if applicable).8) Nitrox indication and O2 toxicity bar if the

latest dive has used Nitrox

WARNING: Following the indicationsof the major organizations which study di-ving and hyperbaric medicine, Leonardo ap-plies the no flight times as follows: 12 hoursafter a single dive without decompression.24 hours after a dive with decompressionor after repetitive or multiday, if correctlyperformed.

48 hours after the use of the gage functionor if severe mistakes in dive managementoccurred.

NOTE: Should a dive begin with less than 2minutes of surface interval time, Leonardowill consider this a continuation of the pre-vious dive; the dive’s count and dive timecomputation will restart from where theyhad stopped. Dives carried out after at least2 minutes of surface are considered as anew dive. The computer will not performany saturation and de-saturation computa-tion during the 48 hours (represented bythe surface interval SURF.T.) elapsing fromthe end of the dive performed with theGAGE function.

PLAN FUNCTION - DIVE PLAN-NING. (im. 27)

The PLAN function takes into account the re-sidual nitrogen in the tissues after the dive/sperformed, changing the curve times and ma-king them shorter than those indicated for thefirst dive.
