Set in the beautiful town of Lake Lure, North Carolina, thousands of attendees have turned out to celebrate the music, dance, and magic of
the film and to have the ‘Time of Their Lives’ for the past three years!
From a lakeside screening and concert to a daytime family festival and golf tournament, this weekend-long extravaganza, held where much of
the classic movie Dirty Dancing was filmed, draws families, fans, and press from all over the world!
Friday, August 16th 2013 Lakeside Film Screening 6:00pm – 10:00pm Guests will enjoy watching Baby and Johnny dance across the silver screen while surrounded by the film’s original scenery of Lake Lure and the Blue Ridge Foothills. This event is free, drawing over 1,500 guests with blankets and chairs in tow and boasting a movie-theater sized screen! Food vendors, exclusive videos, and special guests make it a night to remember.
Saturday, August 17th 2013 The Dirty Dancing Festival 9:00am – 4:00pm The Dirty Dancing Festival is a day full of games, live music, dancing, food, a beer and wine garden, and great fun for the whole family. Highlights include acclaimed bands, free dance lessons all day, and of course a lake-lift competition in the original lake from the movie!
Sunday, August 18th 2013 Charity Golf Tournament & Brunch 8:00am – 11:00am Participants will enjoy a morning of golf on the same golf course as was featured in the film! A special prize will be awarded on the hole where a Dirty Dancing scene was filmed. Meanwhile, a special ‘Kellerman’s Brunch’ and silent auction will be offered to guests in the clubhouse.
Saturday, August 17th 2013 Festival Dance Party & Concert 6:00pm – 11:00pm Guests will dance the night away to live music while enjoying food, drinks, and special dance performances by the Asheville Ballet. This event is free and open to all ages. Imagine the final scene of Dirty Dancing brought to life!
