Calderdale Sports Services Disability Sports Development Programme

Details

Providing physical activity and sport options for SEND children, young people and adults, the Disability Sport programme coordinates programmes and sessions that support the inclusion of young people and adults in various setting settings through the authority.

Working closely with local voluntary sports clubs, further sports specific and inclusive leisure opportunities have been established and competitive opportunities created through participation in the Calderdale School Games & Events Programme.

Disability and adapted mainstream sport programmes are regularly evolving and our programme of activities will be responsive to the progression and development and demand for ‘new’ activities.

For further information on the programme and related sessions please contact Debbie Greenwood.

What is the Activity Finder?

The Active Calderdale Activity finder is a tool that will showcase all of the activity, sport and fitness options in Calderdale.

We want to make sure that everyone in Calderdale is aware of all of the great options to be physically active in the borough. That means having one place where someone can go to find out about all of the sessions available, no matter how big or small - and we want you to be a part of it!

Why sign up?

1. It’s free - signing up to the activity finder doesn’t cost you anything.

2. It’s simple and quick - it only takes a few minutes.

3. We will help to promote your session – we’re putting a significant budget behind promoting the finder, which you’ll benefit from if you’re on there.

4. It opens you up to our grant funding - As part of Active Calderdale we will be providing small grants to sport and physical activity providers who are on our finder*
