Memories One Couple

At A Time

Hello, and congratulations on your recent engagement and upcoming wedding! I am Aaron Abramson, Signature DJ and Chief Entertainment Officer here at Pro Sound & Light Show, and I have the best job in the world.

I get to know so many couples and their families, and have the pleasure of celebrating with them, on what many consider to be the best day of their lives.

I mean when it comes down to it, I get to dress up in a suit, eat catered food (maybe too much catered food...), and party every weekend with the coolest people I’ve ever met.

Every wedding is different, and I’ve met plenty of characters (everyone has that one weird relative...), and do I ever have some stories!

But the thing that never changes, is the love shared by two individuals, joining as one.

I started my DJ career right here, as a Professional DJ with Pro Sound & Light Show. Learning from the best, and being challenged to grow as an entertainer, in 2014 I became Chief Entertainment Officer.

Now, in addition to celebrating with my own clients and couples, I have the honor of teaching, training and coaching our talented staff of over 20 DJs to create extraordinary results with many more couples.

In this planning & information guide, you will learn and see what makes Pro Sound & Light Show the area’s largest and most award winning disc jockey & entertainment company.

But I can tell you right here...

It’s love.

The love we have for what we do, the love we have for our clients, and the love we have for each other - to push, support, and grow together as a company.

I look forward to welcoming you into our family as we help you celebrate with yours!

At your service,

Aaron AbramsonSignature DJ and Chief Entertainement OfficerPro Sound & Light Show

The Wedding Reception aka “The Party!”The ceremony is complete, and now you are married! The most important part of the day is done, and now you can relax, take a deep breath, and PARTY! While you may or may not go off and have amazing pictures taken after the ceremony, your guests will be ready for some socializing.

The Social Hour

The time between your ceremony and dinner is the Social Hour, often called a cocktail hour. This is an important time for your guests to start enjoying themselves, getting caught up with family & friends that they haven’t seen in a long time. The music that your Pro Sound & Light Show DJ plays during the social hour helps set the mood and tempo for the night. The Photo Booth opens and your guests can start having fun taking photos with the fun props.

The Grand Entrance

Often called the grand march, before dinner begins, your Pro Sound & Light Show DJ introduces the wedding party into the room, and then passes the microphone to the person giving the welcome speech. We recommed that the wedding couple say a few words to welcome everyone.

Dinner

After the welcome, your DJ will either introduce the person for the blessing, or announce how dinner will be served. Dinner Music: The music during dinner is quiet and in the background. So your guests can hear it quietly, and it does not interfere with the pleasant conversation happening around you.

Speeches & Toasts

Once everyone has been served their meal, your DJ will give the Best Man & Maid/Matron of Honor a 5 minute “heads up” that speeches are about to occur. They will then be introduced and given a wireless microphone to give their toasts.

Cake Cutting

When it is time for the cake cutting, you may have your DJ announce it, or choose to do it quietly with the photographers.

The DANCE

After the wonderful meal, it is time for you and your guests to get down and get on the dance floor! There are several special spotlight dances that can be done, and done at any time.

The First Dance as a married coupleThe Father/Daughter DanceThe Mother/Son DanceA Parents DanceA Wedding Party Dance

The lights go down, and the dance floor light show creates a fun and inviting atmosphere as the music plays and you and your guests dance the night away.

Your Pro Sound & Light Show DJ works in the song selections you picked during the planning process. Following your:

Must Play list: Songs you absolutely want to dance to.Play If Possible list: Songs you like and think your guests would likePlay Only If Requested list: Songs you don’t care for, but if a guest wants to dance to it then play it.DO-NOT Play list: Songs that will cause the apocalypse to happen if played at your wedding.

During the dance, your photo booth is open and guests are enjoying themselves taking photos and having fun all night long. Moving freely between the dance floor, and the photo booth.

A little later in the night, if you want to have a dollar dance and/or a garter & bouquet toss, your DJ announces and organizes everyone in a fun way that keeps people engaged with what is happening.

At the end of the night, the final song is played and everyone wants to keep the party going. As your guests leave, they congratulate you again and say how much fun they had at your wedding.

Think about your favorite movie of all time. Got it? Would you still like it as much if there were no sound coming from the TV? Or, if it was a terrible, distorted sound causing you to be distracted? Perhaps, it’s barely audible, maybe there is noisy static, or the sound is intermittent. Would you still love the movie? The same could be true for your wedding ceremony if the sound is horrific. You only get one chance to get it right and right it should be!

As a rule of thumb, for weddings with 50 guests or more, especially outside, a ceremony sound system is essential. Yes, you could project your voice, but how romantic is it to stand with your loved one, hand in hand yelling at each other so your guests can hear or to have your wedding officiant bellow out your vows? Do you really want to speak as loud as you can so everyone can hear your declarations? No! Your ceremony should be an intimate love story with every spoken word sounding natural and tender. You’ve invited guests to witness and hear the ceremony too. If they can hear, then they will feel included too!

Pro Sound & Light Show’s Wedding Ceremony option includes everything for you and your guests to have a beautiful ceremony experience, without worry about the technical details.

Your Pro Sound & Light Show DJ will set up an additional ceremony sound system with microphones. The handheld wireless microphone is great if you are having someone read a scripture, say a prayer, or sing a special song. It can be placed on a microphone stand and at the appropriate time, your participant can walk to the stand when it is their turn to read or sing. The professional sound tech & DJ will control the microphone volumes to make sure that everyone can hear the officiant speak, hear the vows clearly, hear any readers, and make sure there are no technical issues like feedback which can detract from the moment of the ceremony.

Your wedding ceremony package can also provide audio inputs for a guitarist or keyboardist to ensure the guests can hear the musician as well.

If you are not having a ceremony musician, and would prefer your Pro Sound & Light Show DJ to play your Processional, Unity Ceremony, and Recessional songs, then you can rest assured knowing those songs will be ready and played at the appropriate time.

When you add your Wedding Ceremony to your Pro Sound & Light Show DJ package, you gain access to our wedding ceremony planner, which helps you decide the order of the ceremony, the songs that you would like, and who is standing in what order.

So now you know – your ceremony sound should be coordinated properly because you only have one chance for it to be right. You want your guests to be involved in every moment and they won’t be if they cannot hear it. A quality speaker system and topnotch microphones, set up by a professional sound company, will ensure that your ceremony will be heard and enjoyed by all.

Call us today at 888-347-5562 to add your Wedding Ceremony to your DJ Package.

____ Extended Grand March Introductions or Bridal Party Roast: Your MC/DJ will be introducing either couples or individuals into the room. But instead of walking directly to the dance floor or head table, they would stay near the entrance while your MC delivers a few sentences about each of them. Generally funny or sentimental, we ask you to provide us 3-5 sentences or bullet points on each person to help us write the introductions. Pre-Dinner Service Formalities____ Welcome / Thank You Speech: Traditionally either the Bride & Groom or a Father gives a few brief remarks to welcome and thank all of the guests for coming. This section can be very brief and can even be handed over to your MC / DJ!

Dinner Kisses: During the dinner, your guests will clink their glasses in the traditional kissing game. We understand that many of our couples would prefer not to be constantly clinked at, so we provide several game options for you to choose from. Your MC will host this portion of the evening. Each time the guests clink their glasses, your MC will have them play one of these mini-games to earn a kiss. We can even have a new game each time they clink. This cuts down on excessive clinking and engages your guests early ensuring more engagement later!

____ Sing a song with the word "Love" in it

____ Bride & Groom Trivia: Answer a question about you two to earn a kiss. ____ Bride & Groom's Choice: You choose a couple to kiss and you will "match" their kiss. ____ Game Style: Hula Hoop, Under a Limbo Pole, Make up a 4 dance move combination, endless possibilities. ____ Chance!: The table that starts the clinking gets a random-chance to see who kisses. 1) Bride & Groom, 2) Their table, or 3) Everyone in the whole room has to find someone to kiss. ____ Just Clink Glasses

____ Other Ideas of your own:___________________________________

____ Toasts: During dinner, generally when the head table is finished with their meal, speeches and toasts are given. The traditional order of speakers would be The Best Man, The Maid/Matron of Honor, and other speakers, The Father of the Groom, and finally, the Father of the Bride, who gets the final word. If you would like your speeches done differently, please explain to your MC/DJ and mark the time on your itinerary!

____ Cake Cutting Ceremony: Bring attention to one of the most overlooked parts of a wedding reception. We can make a basic announcement letting the guests know the cake cutting is happening. OR We can narrate the cake cutting ceremony as you perform it, as the photographer captures it, sharing the symbolism behind each action.

____ Love Story: An available option with our Diamond DJ and Signature DJ packages, the love story is an entertaining story about how the two of you met, dated, fell in love, proposed, and planned the wedding. Often reported as the highlight of their night, the love story is the best way to draw everyone in and set the mood for your fist dance. Chris & Erin

____ Dollar / Money Dance: The dollar dance is a Midwest Tradition in which the guests pay a small amount of money in exchange for a short, one on one dance with the Bride or Groom. If you take away the money, the dollar dance is simply a receiving line set to music. Your MC / DJ will coach your Best Man & Maid / Matron of Honor on the appropriate amount of time for each person. The goal is to keep the dollar dance under 10- 15 mintues at maximum. It usually takes place 30-60 minutes after open dancing begins.

____ Garter & Bouquet Toss: This is usually the last hosted event of the evening, after which, open dancing continues until your end time. There are many ways to perform a Garter & Bouquet Toss as there are Brides & Grooms. If you have a specific idea for your, please discuss it with your MC / DJ during your planning time. We have provided 2 scales to determine what kind of Garter & Bouquet Toss you would like!

I want as many people to be involved as possible.

Music is the magic that moves the soul. It is also what keeps people dancing all night! With a Pro Sound & Light Show DJ, you can let the DJ pick the music, you can let your guests make song requests, and you can pick out your own music selections using our easy play lists.

Must Play ListThese are songs that you ABSOLUTELY want to dance to, your DJ will make sure you are on the dance floor or nearby when they play these songs. (Please try to limit these to 10 songs or less)

Play If Possible ListThese are songs that you really like, and would like played at your reception if possible. However, if a song is missed due to time, or played while you are getting photos taken, at the bar, in the rest room, etc... it's no big deal.

Play Only If Requested ListThese are songs that you don't particularly care for, but if one of your guests requests it, and you want to keep your guests happy, then it is OK to play it.

DO NOT PLAY ListThese are songs that will absolutely cause the Apocolypse to happen if they are played at your wedding.

What will your guests be saying about your wedding reception?

I paid extra to specifically request our DJ because he had great reviews, and it did not disappoint! The night went so smooth and he checked in with me throughout the night to ask when I wanted to do certain things. He took requests all night and everyone had sooo much fun on the dance floor! Also the volume of everything was perfect which isn’t always the case with some weddings.Hannah & Spencer’s wedding at The DECC in Duluth MN on 7/20/2019

Pro Sound & Light was a perfect solution for our wedding day! From the ceremony to the reception, hey were organized, prompt, communicative and took away so much stress from all the wedding planning. DJ Austin Burley was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! One of the most complimented things about my wedding was about how awesome my DJ was. He played a great mix and kept people dancing all night!! He was very flexible for my timeline. When blunders arose he jus went with the flow and made it all blend seamlessly!!!Kelsey & Lance’s wedding inBovey MN on 9/7/2019

I couldn’t have asked for better DJ company! Everything was so organized. Hannah and Eric made our night so smooth and both were extremely accommodating! I will always recommend Pro sound to anyone needing a DJ.Chris & Ali’s wedding atPokegama Golf Course in Grand Rapids MN on 8/31/2019

Jessica was so fun to have as our DJ! She was very accommodating of our requests including a last-minute plan for a choreographed grand march. The mix of fast to slow songs was perfect, as well as the mix of classic and newer songs. Every time I looked over, she and the other DJ were dancing and having a great time, which definitely kept the party mood going!Michael & Linnea’s wedding atSuperior Shores Resort in Two Harbors MN on 8/17/2019

We had a great time and our DJ was amazing. He far exceeded our expectations and kept the dance floor full the entire evening.Mitch & Karen’s wedding at theSolar Arts Building in Minneapolis MN on 8/10/2019

The audio during the outdoor ceremony was perfect and the processional and recessional music was spot on, which really added to our ceremony and helped out dream ceremony come true.Brandon was FANTASTIC to work with. He is someone you can tell loves his job. He played all the requested music during dinner and the cocktail hour, which was perfect!! He also did a great job fading song into each other and playing hits to keep the dance floor packed the whole time during the reception. We had guests tell us that this was the best DJ-ing experience they have ever seen before at a wedding. We attribute a lot of the success of our reception to Brandon. He was able to tear down quicker than we aniticpiated, which was great because he offered to play music until 11 PM rather than the previously scheduled 10:15PM, which our guests loved. 10/10 experience!!! We personally thanked Brandon afterwards, but please pass our high reviews onto him! Thank you for helping making our wedding day the day of our dreams!!!!Emily & Isaac’s wedding at Madeline Island WI on 8/31/2019

My wife and I are a dual military stationed in Alaska and Texas, so to plan a wedding in MN was not on the easy side. Pro Sound & Light was professional and incredible to work with. Their online programs and quick responses to questions made planning our wedding reception easy. We got the photo booth with the slide show and DJ. Best time ever. Everyone at the reception had a great time including my wife’s 85 yr old grandmother cutting a rug to multiple songs. We are truly thankful!Robert & Abby’s wedding at Wild Mountain in Taylors Falls MNon 8/3/2019

Pro Sound and Light made our wedding night absolutely perfect! Their planning website allowed us to plan all the details ahead of time. Then our DJ, Ryan, made time to confirm details and help us solidify everything so that it would be exactly as we wanted the day of. Ryan was so friendly and very good at his job. He gave his expert advice and it helped the flow of our night. The music was great quality. He picked the perfect music for our dinner and dance. My husband and I really appreciated the communication we had with Ryan too. Ryan helped us stay on track with our schedule but also respected and worked around things like needing a bit more time to eat. There were many special moments we will never forget including our garter toss and “Sweet Caroline” that were all things Ryan surprised us with. We cannot say thank you enough to Ryan and his team for making our wedding everything we’ve ever dreamed of. Afterward, our guests had nothing but great compliments for Ryan. They all said there was the perfect mix of music to get every age out on the dance floor. In fact, the dance floor was full the entire night up until the very last dance. Thank you Pro Sound and Light for the truly unforgettable and magical night!Dylan & Kirstyn’s wedding atClyde Iron Works in Duluth MN on 7/20/2019

Tyler was extremely easy to work with. Showed up early and was set up far enough in advance so he wouldn’t be working during the ceremony. He did a great job!Kelsey & Trent’s wedding inRiver Falls WI on 7/27/2019

We highly recommend DJ Mike and Pro Sound and Light Show for any special event. The guests at our wedding loved the variety of music and the way music requests were quickly played. Mike kept the party going all night and kept the energy high! At the end of the night, multiple guests told us that this was the most they had danced at a wedding because the music was so good!Jeff & Maria’s wedding atRush Creek Golf Club in Maple Grove MN on 6/29/2019

He was soooooo hopeful with the pre process as well as the event itself. I’m very pleased and happy with his performance!!Nikki’s wedding inDresser WI on 6/22/2019

Ryan was fantastic. He was interactive without being TOO interactive.the ceremony audio was flawless. During the reception, he played many of our requests and kept the dance floor going for HOURS! He also had good song recommendations when we were struggling to pick options. The online portal was also easy to use to help plan our event. Overall, 10/10! Thanks for making our day unforgettable.Tom & Lauren’s wedding atSpirit Mountain in Duluth MN on 6/15/2019

This truly was the best DJ service I’ve experienced at a wedding, and not just because it was mine! Marc played all the songs on our list, played requests right after we requested them, and everything went so smoothly! People were up and dancing and rarely left the dance floor. The sound quality was great and our DJ was so friendly and helpful.Ben & Jordyn’s wedding at Legendary Waters Casino in Red Cliff WI on 6/8/2019
