DISCHARGE PLAN

MEDICATIONS Levit 500mg 1 tab BID for 3 months Acetazolamide 250mg 1 tab BID for 2 weeks Decilone forte 1 taba BID for 5 days with meals Senna conc (Senokot) 1 tab BID Mefenamic acid (Ponstan SF) 250mg 1 cap every 4hours PRN for headache

EXERCISE Deep breathing exercises Range of Motion Exercises Be sure to talk to the physician before involving in different exercises

THERAPY Vagal Nerve Stimulation Therapy

HEALTH TEACHINGS Compliance of medications Know interventions when seizure will reoccur ( cusion the head, loosen anything tight, turn on side, and dont hold down) Teach family members to call for medical assistance if the seizures lasts for more than 5 minutes, recovery is slow, a second seizure occurs, there is difficulty breathing after recovery, or if there are signs of injury (such as bleeding from the mouth)

DIET Ketogenic diet- The ketogenic diet is a special high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet that helps to control seizures in some people with epilepsy. The typical ketogenic diet, called the "long-chain triglyceride diet," provides 3 to 4 grams of fat for every 1 gram of carbohydrate and protein.
