TRANSCRIPT

Everything in life has a Consciousness and a purpose. Every aspect of this conference is designed to help you discover, experience, and use Consciousness for health. A strong undercurrent is heightening self-awareness—and acquiring Knowledge and tools for healing—to know what is possible.

Health Consciousness influences your well-being, including how you relate to yourself and everything around you. Going deeper unearths root causes and leads to true healing. Effective approaches can be found for conditions that defy treatment.

Chinese Medicine applies a self-care system of living based on wellness and the body’s healing intelligence. Through our bodies, Consciousness communicates relationship imbalances in our in-ternal and external worlds, and a path toward heal-ing. The whole person—body, mind, and spirit—can be brought into balance and harmony. Holistic modalities are built on this level of understanding.

SCIENCE AND ANCIENT WISDOM MERGEIn Quantum science, everything is energy existing in a unified field of dynamic interrelated patterns. Energy and mass are interchangeable. These con-cepts are similar to Qi, or Universal life force, and Oneness, where everything is related and woven together into a seamless whole. Qi and Oneness became known to Chinese masters thousands of years ago, leading to the discovery of immutable natural laws and Five Element Consciousness.

Traditional Chinese Medicine has supported billions of people through a framework that defines our relationship with Nature and honors the body’s ability to sustain health. Methods based on Five Element Consciousness are studied and applied by understanding the effects energetic frequencies can have on health. You will find where you are in this body–mind–spirit framework to understand its benefits.

WHY YOU NEED TO ATTENDLearn what it means to give knowledge life and find the opportunity for change in everything. See

wellness and health care from a different angle. Beliefs, thoughts, memories, relationships, and es-pecially emotions can support or undermine health.

Sessions will help practitioners discover how to gain optimal health and enhance daily life—for their patients and for themselves. Effective self-care tools are offered. Major societal concerns, including food allergies and risks posed by geneti-cally modified food, are notable topics for study.

The conference also creates a unique conscious-ness and energy field extending over the past two decades. It links inspirational talks, intimate workshops, alternative modalities, networking op-portunities, and Qigong healing practices to create a dynamic learning environment. Speakers pas-sionately share knowledge and techniques gleaned from their experience and personal journeys. They remain engaged throughout the conference.

QIGONG: CULTIVATING CONSCIOUSNESSQigong is a conduit connecting the outer realm of Universal energy to the inner world of Qi. The connection informs Qi and increases one’s sensitivity, intuition, and overall well-being. Studies show quality Qigong practice offers deep healing opportunities. This approach yields preventative health benefits and can reduce dependency on medication and intervention. Workshops dedicated to Qigong practice are emphasized.

States—allergies. While a cure eludes science, man-aging symptoms through avoidance and drugs limits our way of life, including family and social relation-ships. For the first time, Grand Master Nan Lu leads this clinical preconference for practitioners, patients, and parents on using Five Element Consciousness to diagnose and treat the root causes of food allergies, including how to prevent them. Novel acupuncture protocols, acupressure points for self-healing, exer-cises, and herbs are among the tools he offers. This approach can also limit potential health risks posed by genetically modified food.

CONFERENCE PROGRAM

WHO CAN BENEfITAll are welcome who are curious about or seek complementary ways to embody Health Con-sciousness in their own lives and the lives of their patients and clients. Relationship also has Consciousness and is a reflection of health. The people behind the conference are Wu Ming Qigong students and integrative practitioners who bring a level of energy and amount of care rarely found elsewhere.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESAt the conclusion of this educational event, participants should be able to:

• Summarize the theoretical, philosophical, and spiritual concepts and framework through which the medical system of TCM operates and make connections between consciousness, body–mind–spirit medicine, and good health.

• Compare the advantages of treating the whole person by restoring balance and strengthening the individual’s healing ability instead of focusing exclusively on illness or disease to improve patient care.

• Differentiate positive contributions TCM could make to prevention within contemporary healthcare.

• Apply protocols of prevention, care, and self-cultivation that encompass body–mind– spirit medicine.

• Hold an informed conversation with patients about TCM as a complementary therapy for health conditions discussed as case studies and offer insights into its correlation with modern science principles.

OUR MISSIONBuilding Bridges of Integration for TCM seeks to offer innovative, effective ways to expand health options and improve healthcare outcomes in the United States. Ancient philosophical principles and theories underlying TCM are presented clearly to build an understanding of how anyone can ap-ply this holistic medical system to create health and wellness. Theories, such as Five Element Consciousness, are offered as a framework to understand how emotions, lifestyle, beliefs, and environment can maintain internal balance to sus-tain health or create imbalances leading to illness.

Our ultimate mission is to broaden the contempo-rary understanding that everything is energy, all energy has a consciousness, and all consciousness has a purpose. The conference provides opportuni-ties to view all health issues as internal energetic frequencies that can transform into physical issues. By understanding how this can happen, the true relationship of body, mind, and spirit for health can be known.

9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.KeYnoTe: Unwrapping Health consciousness Nan Lu, OMDWhy focus on Health Consciousness? Because being healthy is much more than the physical condition of our bodies. Behind health is Health Consciousness in countless forms—food, lifestyle, environment, energy, and our relationships with others and everything around us. This concept is part of a framework and diagnostic tool that can help us change our beliefs about health and healing. Grand Master Nan Lu deeply explores Five Element Consciousness where all of Nature’s Elements are assembled into a single energetic framework of interrelated systems. Discov-ering the root cause of illness involves understand-ing interrelationships, the laws of Nature, and the Consciousness of each Element. Everyone is also born with a dominant Element—a mind–body–spirit gateway. Health isn’t based on one single thing or event. It’s the cooperative effect and unity of all forms of Consciousness.

color, organ, and Healing Sounds: Five elements Meditation Brother Bernard Seif, SMC, EdD, DNM Consistent with the conference’s theme, Brother Seif leads a meditation on the Five Elements. The Five Elements express the luminous web that is the underlying blueprint of Chinese Medicine. Visualizing the color associated with each Element and related organs, while gently chanting a healing sound, is a dynamic and balancing process that invites us back to the basics of Chinese healing philosophy and our best selves.

3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.Hard to Stomach: Treating the root cause of Acid refluxThea Elijah, MAcAcid reflux, or heartburn, is a common physical ailment indicating on some level we are finding life “hard to stomach.” Western medical strategies, such as antacids and proton-pump inhibitors, treat symp-toms but often without lasting success. Long-term use can increase malabsorption and lead to malnour-ishment. By listening to what acid reflux is telling us about the inner world of our digestive system, we can learn to find nourishment no matter what life puts on our plate. Together, in an educational and interactive workshop, participants learn how to support each other in having the heart and the guts to accept, digest, and transform life’s most difficult gifts.

energy, the Quantum Mind, and Well-Being Menas Kafatos, PhDEnergy as the primary force in our lives is the focus of this workshop. Energy is not just movement, it is

focused effort, which is not only pleasant, but also is the foundation of our lives, well-being, and health. Dr. Kafatos examines the quantum mind and how it applies in our lives as well as the three fundamental Laws of the Universe, how they pertain to all levels of experience, and how the quantum mind is in touch with them. How can we realize our fundamental quantum mind and the benefits of these laws? Energy in the physical and mental realms is explored from different perspectives. Einstein’s equation E = mc2 as well as quantum effects that relate to healing and well-being are explored.

can Healing Intention Be Stored and Delivered in a Practical Fashion?William F. Bengston, PhDReliable data from experiments conducted for more than 35 years in controlled and natural settings have led to several distinct findings: “healing” can cure cancer; dose is a factor; healing proceeds nonlinearly and is not fundamentally energy but information; and rather than being correlated with a particular state of mind, healing functions more as an autonomic response to a person’s needs. Dr. Bengston’s current work involves whether healing can be “captured” and “reproduced” without the healer. Can we store healing and independently deliver it in a practical and scalable fashion? Research on whether biological

Treating Infertility Through chinese Medicine Lorne Brown B.Sc., CPA, Dr. TCM, FABORM, CHtIn the field of fertility acupuncture, regardless of diagnosis and outcome, treatment involves more than inserting needles. Mind and body work helps patients become more receptive to conception and better prepared for any outcome. In addition to a mind and body approach, Dr. Brown shares acupuncture points and combinations including laser acupuncture for treating conditions such as unexplained infertility, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and male infertility as well as providing in vitro fertilization support.

9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Breakfastgenetically Modified Foods: consequences for You and the environment Steven M. Druker, JDAgricultural bioengineering attempts to add greater precision and safety into crop development. Yet, artificially changing the genetic code of the world’s food supply is at odds with nature. Genes are reconfigured so modified organisms can function in foreign environments, which disrupts their natural purpose and induces risky metabolic imbalances. Altered plant cells are compelled to develop into adult plants through an unnatural and highly mutagenic process. Proponents of genetically modified organ-isms (GMOs) often misrepresent natural processes as more random and unruly than they are. The GMO food venture prevails based on distorted facts. As a result, natural principles are ignored, truth is devalued, and the importance of living in harmony with nature is lost. Steven Druker discloses conflicts between the GMO food venture and the natural order as well as the consequences for people and the environment.

When used improperly, Qigong can cause negative effects. Instructors discuss the why, what, and how of proceeding with Qigong training.

Quantum Functional Medicine: The Future of Medicine in Practice TodayMelissa Laborsky, MD Western medicine continues to rely on the doctrine that everything in reality is ultimately physical. For example, the mind is physical, and pain is a brain pro-

cess. In contrast, modern science establishes that ev-erything is energy, and quantum field principles, such as nonlocality, entanglement, and complementarity, contradict classical science and embody eastern con-cepts. A new medicine is emerging based on a deep understanding of the ancient wisdom contained in Chinese Medicine. It leads to more complete diagno-ses and treatments for the multidimensional self. Dr. Laborsky shares how she applies quantum, functional, and spiritual principles in her clinical practice.

Tonglen: A Practice for Personal and global Transformation Brother Bernard Seif, SMC, EdD, DNMTonglen can be translated from the Tibetan as “send-ing and receiving.” It is a deceptively simple medita-tion practice learned by Brother Seif in Nepal, and its goal is the transformation of Darkness into Light, both personally and collectively. All of the Five Elements are involved, especially the Fire of the Heart and the Air of the Lungs. After exploring the philosophy be-neath Tonglen, attendees will practice it, which takes some courage (as you will find out).

3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.grasping the Wind: Mast cell Activation Syndrome and the Hundred Diseases Stephen Cowan, MD, FAAP, CAcUnderstanding the concept of wind offers a unique bridge where eastern and western medicine can meet. Chinese Medicine has a long history of recog-nizing wind as a primary manifestation of disease, yet it remains relatively ignored in the West. Mast cell activation syndrome, an immunological condi-tion, corresponds to Chinese Medicine’s view of wind manifesting in the body in a host of ways, from itchy rashes and allergies to the recurrent pain of arthritis, headache, and fibromyalgia. In this workshop, participants will explore the practical value of lifestyle

clarifying the Facts About gMos: risks, natural Processes, and choicesSteven M. Druker, JDDelve into facts to alleviate confusion over the risks to health and the environment from GMO foods and production, and to understand how these risks are sys-tematically misrepresented. Lessons learned from com-puter science are applied to illuminate the shortcomings of genetic engineering, such as the danger from using advanced gene-editing techniques in food production. A special focus is on remedial actions that can be taken by individuals, healthcare practitioners, and society to avoid consuming GMO foods and help restore methods in harmony with natural principles and healthy living. Agricultural systems and our food supply can become safer, more sustainable, and more productive.

7:45 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.Movement and expressive consciousnessNan Lu, OMDConsciousness can express itself through move-ment. Dance is a vehicle for waking up Qi, allowing a freedom that brings the full expression of one’s self to the surface. Grand Master Lu shows how to use dance and music to access higher forms of healing. Guided movement lets your feelings rise to the surface and begin to flow more easily. changes, herbs, and diet that support the circadian rhythms of life and improve our chances of sailing through the ill winds of modern culture.

Healing Your eyes: Integrative Ways to Preserve and recover VisionAndy Rosenfarb, ND, LAC Degenerative vision loss is a serious problem af-fecting young and old. One contributor is, people are simply living longer. Stresses and lifestyle issues common to modern life also underlie these problems. Effective prevention of vision loss requires identifying issues before serious vision problems occur. Although modern medical approaches still offer little hope, treatments integrating Chinese Medicine are shown to help restore and prevent vision loss. Common causes of degenerative vision loss will be discussed along with the basics of an innovative, effective, and integrative program that acupuncturists and physi-cians are bringing into their practices.

good Vibrations: Sound Therapy and Self-care Ellen F. Franklin, PhDEverything in the universe vibrates at every level—cosmic, biological, and molecular. Sound used with conscious intent can heal deep wounds, shift consciousness, and reunite us with the harmonies and rhythms of the Universe. Examine the science of sound, frequency, and physiology and the human body as a perfect receptor. Explore the use of planetary tun-ing forks and musical intervals along with how sound works on three aspects of meridians—organic, emo-tional, and psychospiritual. Taoist concepts of the Three Treasures, as well as the use of related acupuncture points serving as powerful gateways for deep healing work, are discussed and demonstrated. Participants can discover a well-studied, self-care approach to reduce stress, anxiety, and compassion fatigue.

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.Bridging the Divisions that Seem to Separate What cannot Be SeparatedMenas Kafatos, PhDThe primacy of Consciousness and its implications in our lives are presented from a scientist’s perspective in a delightfully accessible way. Findings from modern science, quantum mechanics, and relativity reveal the quantum mind that exists everywhere as Aware-ness and energy with no bounds or limits. These paradigm shifts all refer to Oneness and reinforce the ancient teachings and practices of the Tao, Qigong, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Health Conscious-ness, the cosmology of the human being, and the role of conscious Awareness in our lives are in total agreement with modern science. Dr. Kafatos contends these concepts are far from being just philosophical understandings and are important for health and well-being. Science and the great traditions of the East meet to bridge the divisions that seem to separate what cannot be separated.

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.Digesting Health consciousness: clinical Integration and ApplicationMenas Kafatos, PhD and Nan Lu, OMDAfter a weekend of digesting Health Conscious-ness and absorbing as well as experiencing Qigong, Chinese Medicine, and the Five Element Conscious-ness Framework, presenters will share how to move forward and integrate these teachings into clinical and personal practice. They will share experiences leading to their view of unity and a mutual vision of how humanity can reach its full potential before opening the microphones to the audience. At that time you will have the opportunity to ask questions pertaining to both personal and professional integra-tion of these concepts.
