Distinguished Speaker Series Visibility Plan

Featuring Neel Grover (CE0 of Buy.com)November 5th, 2009

Proposed Program Purpose/ Rationale

1) The Distinguished Speaker Series brings a variety of Chief Level Officers to campus to address relevant issues and share insight on leadership perspectives, ethical frameworks, and decision-making processes of their firm. The Distinguished Speaker Series is a program of the Center for Leadership and Team Development, one of the Centers of Excellence at the Paul Merage School of Business.

2) The Speaker Series Events are high-level networking opportunities for MBA students, Merage faculty, staff, alumni, corporate partners and members of the Dean’s Leadership Circle frequently attend Speaker Series Events.

Visibility Plan Goals and Target Market

In order to promote visibility/awareness for the Center for Leadership and Team Development’s Distinguished Speaker Series this November 5th, I have proposed a wide range of marketing strategies to reach out to different campus entities.

DSS Marketing for campus entities a.     MBA student organizations (more personalized that an email)b.     Merage undergrad business majors and minors (more personalized that an email)

Making a brief announcement before or after class of this event to my fellow peers would spread awareness throughout the campus. Passing out a stack of flyers for each intern to give out to his/her department would also help promotion.

Placing big sandwich boards, signs, posters, and flyers along Ring Road would be instant visibility for undergraduate students. Event Publicity is run through Campus Organizations and Resource Center (CORE). 4 of the Admin interns are also Core Consultants, who can definitely help the CLTD stay connected with CORE.

Housing Communities (Middle Earth, VDC, Mesa

Potential interested students in these communities may not have been reached out on campus or electronically.

[email protected] 5- Monday- Friday- 10/26-10/30

A simple email can be sent out to the Housing office whether or not we would be able to stick flyers of the

Court, AV, DSS event in each resident’s mailbox. For some of the hall communities, we could also post flyers of this event on their living room bulletin boards.

Student Organizations

Many of these clubs have general interest in business, law, and simply are interested in hearing from alumni
