INTRODUCTION OF DDC

Dairy Development Corporation, established under corporaton Act 2021 BS.

DDC-a fully state owned corporation, initiated for the economic advancement of the poor farming communities, has flourished into a nationwide movement with an annual collection over 60 million litres of milk from more than 75 thousand milk producers through 888 milk cooperatives spread out in 33 district

INTRODUCTION OF MATERIAL HANDLING IN DDC

• Material-handling equipment is equipment that relate to the movement, storage, control and protection of materials, goods and products throughout the process of manufacturing, distribution, consumption and disposal.

IMPORTANCE OF MATERIAL HANDLING IN DDC

• Eliminates accidents• Reduce stress and efforts• Minimize time spent on distribution,storage

etc.• Eliminate redundant work.

Tools of material handling used in DDC

Crates• Crates are square or rectangular interlocking boxes that are used to

transport milk and other products from dairies to retail establishments.

 Conveyers

• Conveyer system to move material or products has given start for the engineers.

• Steel/plastic balls or rollers are mechanical mounted on the side channels and the products move on them by driver motor or the power of gravity.

Ice boxes• Ice Boxes are specially designed for storing and

transporting frozen foods. • They are made from food grade virgin approved

polyethylene, PU filled and UV stabilized, thus preserving the freshness of contents for longer duration.

Trucks  • Any of various heavy motor vehicles designed for

carrying or pulling loads. DDC use these trucks to carry goods from one place to another.

 Shelving / Racking• Into manufacture and sale of storage systems in metal, we are

steadily growing to cater to systematic material storage needs and quick retrieving requirements generated from the manufacturing level.

Trolleys

• A small wheeled table used for serving or moving food and drinks. Light and strong truck used for transfer of material from long distances at faster speed and silently.

Containers 

• It is the object to hold something:an object such as a box, a jar. Or a bottle that is used to holds something, especially when it is being stored or transported.DDC use various containers like glass containers ,metal containers, plastic containers.
