Youth Service & Community Service - The Rotary Club of Waikiki has completed the following literacy projects this past quarter: • Back to School Supply Drive • Dictionary Project • Rotary Reads to Kindergarten Waikiki Elementary School • Books for Newborns Trippler Hospital • Over 100 backbacks deliverd to Homeless Shelter, Youth Outreach and schools • Trippler Fisher House-Support to our Military Families • Books to Trippler Fisher House • Rotary Sings inPreschools: Waikiki Community Center Preschool (Vocational Service with Kumu Auntie Gale) (POC Literacy Chair: Gloria King)

Youth Service & Community Service - The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay completed the following literacy projects this past quarter: • Adopt a Classroom Kilauea & Hanalei Schools (Ric Cox) • From April 3 to Sept. 8, 20 individual members of the RCHB have donated more than $37,000 to Aloha Angels for Adopt a Class, for classroom supplies and field trips. • In Class tutoring - Three members have tutored in their classes weekly. • Teaching on Junior Achievement (Ivory McClintock) – 5 members contributed time to teach Financial literacy to High school students. • Book project for schools (Jan Dunn) – over 800 donated books on their way for distribution to various schools • Dictionary project (George Corrigan) is in progress. Youth Service & Community Service - The Rotary Club of Poipu Beach has completed the following literacy projects this past quarter: • Adopt-a-Class (20) Koloa Elementary School • Adopt-an-After-School-Club (5) at Koloa Elementary School • Dictionary distribution to third graders in four schools • Rotary Readers at Koloa Elementary • School Book donations (one per week) to the Koloa Library (POC: Rick Golba)

Youth Service & Community Service - The Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise completed the following literacy project this past quarter: Dictionary Project at Kihei Elementary School. We give them out to all the 3rd graders (about 150) in the cafeteria. Joanne Doell does a mini lesson with the kids after the books are given out. (POC: Joanne Doell )
