“Preliminary-Certified” cases typically do not require staff review.

Processing occurs twice daily at approximately 4 p.m. Eastern and overnight.

“Pending Review” cases may require staff review.

Amateurism urgent request program available.

Case must be “Ready to Process-Final.”

• On active IRL no earlier than current cycle.• Have requested final amateurism.• Have no open amateurism tasks.

Confirm PSA has accurately listed any previous full-time collegiate enrollment.

Sports Participation questionnaire is complete and accurate.

AMATEURISM

When to submit an urgent request: Competition, travel or foreign tour.

Mid-year enrollee/summer school.

Imminent Deadline: Registration, financial aid, practice days exhausted.

Urgent request submitted? What’s next:Amateurism team reviews within two business days.

If necessary, tasks will be opened.

“Urgent” tag retained through completion of review.

Given that this is our first year of urgent amateurism requests, please make every

effort to limit the number of submissions as these accounts do take resources away

from standard caseload.

Gives institution an option to inform Eligibility Center of issues not provided by PSA.

If you wish to pursue reevaluation, contact Customer Service.

Institution may request Decision Inquiry within 30 days of “Not Certified” or “Certified with Conditions” decision.

Task will open allowing upload of form and relevant documentation.

• Response within 10 business days of submission.• Additional information may be requested.

Decision Inquiry task will close and response posted.

• Delayed enrollment legislation.• Based on student’s expected date of

high school graduation.

Who needs a graduation date determination?

• Students who do not graduate with their class.• Students who delay full-time collegiate enrollment

after high school.

Submit official transcripts, proof of graduation and/or academic records, such as exam results.

Multiple Educational Timeline? • Eligibility Center may be able to extend the expected date of

graduation (or stop waiting for) upon confirmation of expected or pending credential(s).

• Form provided in task should be completed by school administrator.

Membership• Academic Records Submission Form must accompany any submission. Upload or email.

• No longer need to provide the document receipt history. • Upload via the Membership Portal is strongly preferred and speeds up

processing/review. Uploads are immediately viewable as “Mail Received-Pending

Review.” Emails require imaging and staff evaluation prior to being coded as

“Mail Received-Pending Review.” Can take up to two business days to process.

ACADEMIC RECORDSSUBMISSIONS

International High Schools or Ministries.

• May email official academic records.Note: Email MUST come directly from a school or

ministry email domain name.

PSAs, Families, Third Parties.

• International PSAs cannot mail their own official transcripts. We will still accept academic records in a sealed envelope

Automatic Waivers—yes, there will be some!

Elevated Sliding-scale Index:

• Meets progression (domestic only).

• Maximum two core-course deficiency (no more than one unit in any subject area).

• Meets the obvious waiver sliding-scale index (minimum 2.300 core-course GPA).

Predicted First-year GPA:

• Meets core-course progression requirements.

• Maximum three core-course unit deficiency. No subject area deficiency thresholds.

• 2.6 or higher predicted first-year GPA using 2018-19 data tool.

IN OTHER NEWS…

Automatic Waivers

Pre-ninth Grade Core-Course Progression:• Considers high school-level math courses taken prior to year

nine.• Based on presumption of completion.• For example, Algebra if student’s math progression in high

school starts with Geometry or Math 2.

►Student Matriculation letters will no longer be requested!

Use the Academic Records Upload feature for matriculation letters and other academic documents.

Encourage domestic high schools to upload transcripts—especially six semesters for preliminary evaluation!

Encourage international students to submit transcripts and test scores early for preliminary evaluation.

Watch for recruits that have attended high schools with an “In Review,” “Closed,” “Not Cleared” or “Extended Evaluation” status, as coursework may not be used or require additional review.
