Introducing: The Hidalgo Trading Company Raffle and Silent AuctionWhen Doc Con was

smaller, certain elements evolved, such as our give-away table and fan created gift items. With the advent of a larger Doc Con some of these elements have been reexamined and/or modi-fied.

One of those elements remains untouchable and a second similar element has been added. Of course, I am referring to the Raffle. The Doc Con Raffle has been a staple of Doc Con for over ten years.

Traditionally, our attend-

ees bring several items, usually two or three things that they have duplicates of, created or bought spe-cifically for the raffle. All of the items are Doc Savage related or at the very least pulp related.

Some items such as Ban-tam singles, and modern Doc comic books are rarely contributed because most of us by now have all that we want. Uniqueness is en-couraged.

Everyone who contributes items, get their name placed in a hat. When your name

is called you go to the table and select an item that you want. After each round, the names are again placed in the hat and rounds continue until all the items are select-ed.

This event has proven im-mensely popular and has been newly christened: The Hidalgo Trading Company Raffle.

Our newest addition, the Silent Auction will debut at Doc Con 15. Upon regis-tration, each attendee will receive, tickets that they can deposit in containers

(in any combination they choose) placed in front of ten lucrative pieces of art, collectables and one-of-a-kind items. Additional tick-ets will also be available for purchase and the draw-ing for the winners of each item will be conducted later in the afternoon. Between door prizes, our traditional HTC Raffle and now the Si-lent Auction, Doc Con prom-ises to offer something un-dreamed of and unexpected for all of its participants.
