16.2 Inconsistent Membership

The urban setting poses a great challenge of frequent mobility with members constantly moving due to job transfers as well as responding to the needs of personal growth and development. In order to address this challenge, there is need to focus on short term programs.

16.3 Drug Abuse/Alcoholism

Drug abuse is affecting youths in this Presbytery and this challenge is being addressed by establishing a rescue centre in slum area like Githogoro and Kibera and start a Ministry for them. Evergreen Parish has started “Mashujaa Ministry”.

16.4 Lavington Church Court Case

The ongoing Lavington United Church case continues to be a financial burden and hindrance to Spiritual growth.

16.5 Political Uncertainty

Milimani North Presbytery is at the heart of Nairobi County; therefore Church projects were adversely slowed down by the political uncertainty that was experienced in our country.

16.6 Burning incoming generating project at Silanga in Kibera Parish

At Silanga Church in Kibera Parish “kiosks” were burnt during post-election violence and this was an income generating project.

16.7 Youth Unemployment

Being in the heart of the city of Nairobi, youth unemployment remains a time-bomb waiting to explode. This is because we have many people migrating from the rural areas to the urban area in search of employment. The Presbytery is embarking in Youth empowerment programs that will enhance self-employment.
