It’s diffi cult enough in a good economy to get approval to attend industry events. Now factor in a struggling one, and you’ve got some convincing to do. But don’t worry, we can help make a compelling case to attend.
To attend or not to attend, that is the roughly $750 - $2,500 question! So, how do you approach manage-ment seeking permission to attend a professional conference/trade show when your company has just instituted a “travel ban” or is struggling fi nancially in this economic environment? The answer isn’t easy! But, if you are prepared to make a compelling case to attend, it can be done and we will help you.
First, you most understand that management will always look at attending professional conferences/trade shows as an “Expense” to the company. Your job is to recognize that and make a compelling case that takes that into consideration. What most companies don’t equate into their decision-making process is the, “Return on Investment” opportunity that attending represents. Our job is to clearly defi ne that ROI your company will gain by sending you to DOCUMENT Strategy Forum, September 13-15th at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, Chicago.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR CONFERENCE EXPENSESBefore you approach management, you must recognize and identify all related expenses associated with attending DOCUMENT Strategy Forum. Below is a list of expense items that you’ll need to consider.Conference Registration: $495 - $1,295 (depending on the conference program you choose) Flight: $200 - $400 (if airfare is required)Mileage Reimbursement: Multiply 48.5 cents/mile (if you drive to the forum)Parking: $20 per day (if you are driving to the forum)Lodging: $215 plus tax, per night (multiply by # of nights required)Transportation to and from Airport: $ No Cost. SHAREPOINT BEST PRACTICES (S)
Sharing and managing information in our ever-evolving digitized world has become more and more complex. As companies and their enterprises face rapidly growing information sources in a highly mobile business environment, we have witnessed the rise of SharePoint as a dominant technology tool for organizations to face these challenges. SharePoint has become a strategic platform for team sites, portals and enterprise-wide content and records management. This track will address key capabilities of SharePoint 2010, explore critical electronic records management, IT, legal implications and issues as well as deliver best practices derived from real-world SharePoint ECM/RM projects.
DOCUMENT STRATEGY (D)
The defi nition, form or shape and mechanisms of the document or corporate communi-cation are continuously reinventing itself at a lightening pace. Organizations are not only challenged to keep up with such transformations, oftentimes, requiring extensive, time-consuming restructure of processes and policies, but to do it well. Successful enterprises utilize thoughtful, well-planned document strategies to remain ahead of the market. This track will address strategic implementation of document management, project man-agement and multi-channel communications, discuss security/compliance of emerging technologies, such as social networking, review market analysis and document trends as well as analyze the processes of electronic adoption and customer personalization.
OUTPUT MANAGEMENT/PRODUCTION (O)
Intelligent and data-rich one-to-one customer communications have become the stan-dard, not the exception. This demand for cultivating personalized relationships between customer and service provider has put a heavy burden on an organization’s output processes and their bottom lines, especially in high-volume environments that have complex regulations and billing cycles to be met. To remain competitive and win that ever-elusive consumer loyalty, companies need to produce smarter, faster and more cost effectively. This track will address increasing output productivity through automation processes, explore cost-saving optimization techniques and outsourcing core compe-tencies as well as introduce new multi-media tools within traditional output models.
MAILING OPTIMIZATION (M)
With more than 41 billion transactional/TransPromo documents being delivered via the traditional mail stream, document producers and mail professionals will need to under-stand their interrelated roles within the mail strategy and optimization initiatives to meet these demands. This track will address emerging technologies, like cloud computing and its impact on mail, discuss the issues of mail security, document delivery and operational challenges amidst constant USPS changes as well as exploring the future of the corpo-rate mail center and document delivery.
FORMS MANAGEMENT, DESIGN & WORKFLOW (F)
Forms management involves cost-benefi t analysis, consultation, project management and environmental and safety awareness. Forms administration involves version control, identifi cation and fi ling systems, software distribution, warehousing, standards, operat-ing procedures, obsolescence, forms repositories, business continuity, procurement and inventory management.
TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATIONS (T)
Technology principles include electronic technologies involving digital demand imaging, recognition systems, post processing, data merge printing and production principles. This also includes systems architecture involving hardware, operating systems, database development, networks, communication systems, mobile systems, automating work-fl ows and applications software.

PC200 Achieving Sustainable Cost Benefi ts of Managed Print Services: Strategies & Best Practices PRODUCED BY
Cost reduction has always been a top concern for any enterprise’s bottom line, much more so now as organizations are still feeling the harsh lessons of the recent recession. With this focus on cost, along with evolving demographics and emerging technologies, it is no surprise that we have seen the rise of managed print services (MPS). Today, many executives are looking to get a handle on their printing costs and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities. To fully realize the benefi ts of a man-aged print program, organizations will need to understand how to effectively manage the full document life cycle — from its point of origin to its return to electronic format. This special, full-day workshop offers MPS concepts, strategic adoption of print pro-grams and best practices to achieve the best cost benefi ts.

PC100 SharePoint Practitioner Certifi cate Program SPONSORED BY
SharePoint has become one of Microsoft’s fastest selling products of all time and one of the most recognizable names in the technology sector, but what is it really? What does it really do? How can organizations harness its true potential? A success-ful implementation of SharePoint requires so much more than simply purchasing this solution. Enterprises must approach such initiatives with a sound strategy and structure for how to share and manage information across the organization. This spe-cial, full-day workshop, offered by the AIIM Certifi cate Program, introduces enterprise strategies and technologies for managing content using SharePoint, primarily focus-ing on 2010 capabilities while touching on 2007 or earlier capabilities as needed, and addresses information governance, integration techniques and migration. Attendees will have access to the online materials and exam to gain the offi cial AIIM designation of SharePoint Practitioner. The designation is valid for 5 years.
Exclusive All Day Pre-Conference Workshops TUESDAY NOVEMBER 1 • 10:00am – 5:00pm
