TRANSCRIPT
A Nov. 14th 1775 proclamation issued by John Murray Earl of Dunmore
(Royal Governor of Virginia) offers freedom to slaves
that joined the Royal forces against the Thirteen Colonies.
These former slaves become Black Loyalists.
Living Africans Thrown Overboard . Sometimes shortages in supplies (food, water)
and an outbreak of disease would result in people being thrown overboard. Cargo (human beings)
was often insured so that no financial loss would be incurred by ship owners.
