FEBRUARY BINGOIf you were not there you

missed a fantastic night of fun. Brothers Jim and Sladen greet-ed people at the door and hand-ed out Bingo Cards. Donna Wood handled the 50/50 raf-fle. The local 4H was in the kitchen cooking up delicious meals and snacks for everyone. Brother Joseph worked both

the bar and called the numbers for the games. Brothers Jim was a very enthusiastic walk-er. We want to thank every-one who came out as we had more people then in previous months. It’s great to see our community coming together for a good time and supporting local youth organizastions.

Jim and Sladen who planned out a fantastic night celebrat-ing our Past Presidents of the Edison Social Club. We were honored to see many of our past presidents come together for a night of revelry and rem-iniscing about our club and it’s many great years. Extra special thanks goes to our cook crew who served up one of the clubs favorite meals Chicken Fried Steak served with mashed pota-toes, green beans and salad.

NEWS AROUND THE CLUBWe want to take a moment to

thank Brother Sean Peterson who for the last year has been in negotiations with a local company to build a cell tower on the Club Land. After many meetings, phone calls, reports to the club leadership we’ve settled all questions and have received our first check to secure this contract. This is very helpful as this is a guar-anteed source of income for the club and helps us keep our doors open. Next time you see brother Sean be sure to thank him and offer to get his next drink perhaps.

FUN ZONEOne night four college kids

stayed out late, partying and hav-ing a good time. They paid no mind to the test they had scheduled for the next day and didn’t study.

In the morning, they hatched a plan to get out of taking their test. They covered themselves with grease and dirt and went to the Dean’s office.

Once there, they said they had been to a wedding the previous night and on the way back they got a flat tire and had to push the car back to campus.

The Dean listened to their tale of woe and thought. He offered them a retest three days later. They thanked him and accept-ed his offer.that time.

When the test day arrived, they went to the Dean. The Dean put them all in separate rooms for the test. They were fine with this since they had all studied hard. Then they saw the test. It had 2 questions.

MeetingOn February 4, we had a potluck to celebrate

our side count. We had about 35 at our potluck, give or take a few. We enjoyed fried chicken, potato salad, macaroni salad, and many dif-ferent salads that all the ladies brought. There were many kinds of desserts to share. It was delicious!

On February 18, we had 21 members pres-ent. There were 7 officers absent due to a virus and other reasons. Thank you to all who stepped up to fill our officer positions. Verna Fries filled in for Carol Rice, Dorie Sabbatini for Darlene Quick, Hope Babcock for Barbara Boynton, Eudene Ferriera for Shirley Bitter, Velma Brunkhardt for Flora De Pasquale, Emma Krisiak for June Babcock and Eudene Ferreira for Shirley Bitter. Hope all of you get well quickly. We miss you all very much!

We have mis located the President’s keys since our potluck. Please check your purses for a white ribbon with a couple of keys that open our cupboards and door. If found, please let Bobbi Brose know where they are and please return them to her or another officer. Thank you for checking and help looking for them. I am sure they will show up.

Good of the OrderOne month’s due was won by Carol Ede.

Tracie Emmerson lost the door prize of $12.00. Next meeting it will be $13.00, must be present to win.

Side count Lynn Anderson would like to thank all who

helped at the Side count Potluck. It was a great lunch. Darlene Quick did all the service of hostess with the help of Carol Rice, Nancy Gilbert, Carolyn Bobadilla, Jennifer Lopez and Terri Natali. Bobbie Brose picked up the chicken for us to enjoy! Thank you to all who helped make this lunch an enjoyable event.

Anniversary LunchWe will be having a luncheon on the second

meeting of March. Hope Babcock and Terri Natali will be Co-chairing the event. Thank you for stepping up to plan the event. We are hopeful for a good turnout. When they ask for help please say yes.

Sunshine ReportCarol Ede shared that Shirley Bitter and

Margie Deis is staying home getting stronger before they can make the meetings. Margie said thank you for all the cards and plant sent her way. Shirley asked us to give a donation to Veterans instead of sending her a plant. Mary Ellen Lung had back surgery and is home recuperating. Carol Rice and Barbara Babcock has the flu. June Babcock has pneumonia and is in a rehab center.

Jo Teninty is mourning her beloved husband who passed away on February 19, 2020. We hope you know how dearly loved you are by all. Our love and prayers go out to you.

We hope you get stronger and better with rest. See you soon. Please keep our sisters in your prayers and stay in touch. Please give Carol Ede a call, 559-271-1783, if you have any sunshine reports or updates.

Great Grand Kids are Great!Carol Ede reported that she had a great

grandson named Cooper James born and weighing in at 8# 8 oz. and 20” long. He has a big sister who is 19 months old. They will be

very close, and mom will be very tired for a while. Congratulations!

March BirthdaysOn March 3rd we will be celebrating all

birthdays since January, February, and March. This month celebrating their birthdays are Velma Brunkhardt, Terry Feuerstein, Lanella Hare, Marge Henry, Linda Parson, Joyce Rehn, and Marlene Weber. We hope you ladies will have a wonderful birthday celebrating with your family and friends. I would like to acknowledge that I forgot an important sister, Dorie Sabbatini who turned 92 in February. Sorry for overlooking your name!

I am soon going to work for the Census Bureau and continue going to school. It will be hard for me to be at all meetings. So, I am looking for someone to fill in as minute taker for the next few meetings in March, April, May and June. Please give me a call if you are willing to take notes.
