1. General characteristics1.1. General

• The Sobinox door handles are manufactured from high-grade stainless steel AISI 304 and are supplied in satin finish.

• These door handles can be used in many different sectors due to their aesthetic, practical, maintenance friendly and hygienic properties: e.g. private houses, hospitals, catering, industry, ... .

• The door handles are available as Standard and Security version.

• Versions: - Grips: 3 types. - Short backplate: rectangular or rounded. - Long backplate Standard: rectangular or rounded. - Long backplate Security: rectangular.

• This design has been extended to the range of window handles as well as to the range of door handles for sliding doors. In this way, a uniform look and seamless integration in any architectural style is obtained. For more information about these products we refer to the relevant chapters.

• Due to an integrated spring system, the Sobinox door handle always returns to its original starting position, even with frequent use.

• The door handle with built-in click system enables rotating over 360° in 4 steps of 90°.

• The door handles are non-handed.

• The door handles are available without cylinder hole.

• The square spindle ( 8 mm) in steel zinc plated must be ordered separately.

• Explanation codes: - C = without cylinder hole - L = on a long backplate - VI = with concealed fixing - P = with cylinder protection

1.2. Sobinox Standard door handles• The door handles are available with visible or with

blind (VI) fixing holes. Due to the aluminium cover the fixing screws are always concealed. The VI door handle has the advantage that both door handles can be screwed to each other.

• High-quality materials: - door handle: stainless steel - long backplate: zinc alloy - cover: stainless steel

• The door handles have a high corrosion resistance grade 5 (480h) in accordance with the European standard EN1670.

• The door handles meet the European standard EN1906:2012 and obtained the following classification code:

1.3. Sobinox Security door handles• The Sobinox Security door handles are high security han-

dles with a long backplate in solid stainless steel which makes the cylinder practically unreachable and the long backplate hard to break.

• The Sobinox Security external door handles are provided with blind fixing holes (VI version). These door handles have been tested: - by SKG 3 stars. - RC2 in accordance with EN1906:2012.

• The concealed fixing holes are suitable for screws M6. The fixing holes on the internal side are visible.

• High-quality materials: - door handle: stainless steel - long backplate: stainless steel

• The door handles have a high corrosion resistance grade 4 (240h) in accordance with the European standard EN1670.

• The door handles meet the European standard EN1906:2012 and obtained the following classification code:

1.5. Maintenance tipsMaintenance should be carried out at suitable intervals to prevent surface corrosion and for reasons of hygiene.

Normal maintenance• Clean the stainless steel parts regularly.• Treat the surface with soapy water or with a mild detergent.• Rinse of the detergent with clean water.• Polish with a soft cloth or sponge.

Never use• Scouring powders.• Steel wool or steel brushes.• Highly abrasive materials.

4. Sobinox Security door handles with cylinder protection4.1. Cylinder position

• The Sobinox Security door handles with cylinder protection are only provided on the external side.

• The door handles are provided with a special cover plate at the height of the cylinder. This plate protects the cylinder against forcing, breaking and pulling out.

• Positioning of the cylinder: - The cylinder is positioned maximum 8.5 mm in the backplate. - Please note the following dimensions:

- B min = 12.5 mm - C - C min = 12.5 mm - B

6. Escutcheons• The escutcheons are used in combination with the door handles with short backplate.

7. Sobinal: aluminium door handles7.1. General

• A number of generation 1 Sobinox door handles are still available in aluminium (AL).• Finish: anodised or polyester powder coated in more than 450 RAL colours.• The door handles have a powerful concealed spring.• The square spindles must be ordered separately: see order table on page K16.13.32.• The door handles are tested in accordance with the European standard EN 1906:2012 and obtained the

following classification code:

7.4. Long backplate

7.5. Square spindles• All sizes only apply if both the internal and the external

handle is mounted.

• The square spindles are fixed by a grub screw in the slotted part of the spindle. At least 1 screw must en-gage in the slot of the square spindle when there’s a door handle at both sides.

• The square spindles are also available in large scalement package (G) per 50 pieces. Ordering example: GV48-90.
