Page 1: Double page spread research

For my double page spread I was thinking about putting my picture as the full background, so for my double page spread research I have chosen double page spreads that either use the image as most or all of the background.

On this double page spread the image is used as the full background, this works well as it connects the two pages together and as the image is so big it attracts attention to the pages, also having the image as a full background

also works as the image is normally the first thing people look at.

The writing on this double page spread is bigger than normal, this is because it is more of an advertisement page for the band Linkin’ park. As I will not be doing an advertisement on my double page spread my text will be a much smaller font.

On this double page spread the image is not taking up the whole page, however it does join the two pages together as it goes slightly over the other side. Also the other two images used on this double page spread are in the same style of the main image. This helps me as in my double page spread, although I will be using my main image as the whole background, I know that the other images I use should be in the same style as the main one.

Like many conventional magazines, the font on this page is small and is set out in columns.

The colour scheme is simple but also effective, and as the

colours fade it gives a depth to the image

The band used in this page is the same band that I am using in my double page spread, however this page is on the band where mine will be focusing on the gig of the band.

Again on this double page spread the image is used as the full background. This magazine was released in the winter, so the theme and heading is linked to Christmas.

The writing at the bottom is bigger as is it advertising something or telling you about what is on the double page spread.

The writing at the top is conventional as it is small and is also in columns.

The colour scheme for this double page spread links to the image as the colours used are Christmas linked and also the back colour for the article is white so it matches the image.
