Double Sided Bendy Card with Top Slider Mechanism This card is really easy to make but does require a 12 x 12 cutting machine. Each kit contains the following: Optional printable 12 x 12 scrapbook design for Slider base mechanism (SassyCheryl_Paper_12_x_12) Slider base mechanism cut from 12 x 12 cardstock (BendyCard_CardTemplate) Multiple printable sentiments for slider piece (BendyCard_PullTab) Two bendy wrap around forms (BendyCard_Fence) Multiple print and cut embellishments (BendyCard_PrintNCut) All Double Sided Bendy Cards follow these instruction. The examples are specific to the Halloween Monsters Bendy Card design. See the shop for other designs. Figure 1- BendyCard_Fence, BendyCard_PullTab, BendyCard_CardTemplate, BendyCard_PrintNCut) The files including Print and Cut (PNC) Every machine handles PNC differently. The major file format is SVG which can be used in most cutting machine software. There are two versions. The regular SVG files are created through Adobe Illustrator (AI) which is my design software of preference. These files have each individual mat broken out but if you further investigate the size of the files you will realize that all artboards (Mats) are included just not visible. With large designs this causes problems with the online software such as Canvas Workspace. The second SVG file set contains the word canvas and is created using Silhouette Design studio (DS). If you have difficulties with the standard SVG please use this version. So why have both versions? I am a Silhouette user and will guarantee the files work on this machine. I have included other formats for those who have the confidence in using SVG within their software. I check the import for MTC and FCM files but do not include those always since I do not have the capability of testing PNC on a machine. I’m being honest especially since this is a print and cut design. As PNC I also have included the files in various other formats. There is both JPEG and PDF version. They are 12 x 12 or 8.5 x 11. For your convenience you do not have to trace the print and cut embellishments because the cutting line is included in the SVG format. Please note this design comes as multi files. For Silhouette users the SVG file contains the artwork. Turn on your print and cut registration marks before printing from DS. After printing use the send feature and select line. Double Sided Bendy Card with Top Slider Mechanism This card is really easy to make but does require a 12 x 12 cutting machine. Each kit contains the following:

• Optional printable 12 x 12 scrapbook design for Slider base mechanism (SassyCheryl_Paper_12_x_12) • Slider base mechanism cut from 12 x 12 cardstock (BendyCard_CardTemplate) • Multiple printable sentiments for slider piece (BendyCard_PullTab) • Two bendy wrap around forms (BendyCard_Fence) • Multiple print and cut embellishments (BendyCard_PrintNCut)

All Double Sided Bendy Cards follow these instruction. The examples are specific to the Halloween Monsters Bendy Card design. See the shop for other designs.

The files including Print and Cut (PNC) Every machine handles PNC differently.

BendyCard_CardTemplate

Print the optional printable 12 x 12 scrapbook design (SassyCheryl_Halloween_Paper_12_x_12) on cardstock. Cut the HalloweenMonsters_BendyCard_CardTemplate from this cardstock. There are a total of 6 scorelines on this template which will make a 5.5 x 4.24 x .125 inch box.

Foldlines or scorelines are indicated by dashed lines and are NOT cut except as a kiss cut (Silhouette example: blade set to 1 with force of 15). The color red is a valley fold. The color blue is a moutain fold. I use a scoring board for my fold lines and set the fold with a bone folder.

BendyCard_PullTab Select the sentiment for each side of the Pull Tab. Center close to the fold line, print and cut. Score the tab in half and set the crease with a bone folder.

The elliptical cutouts is not marked for a fold but needs to be scored down the middle and then folded to the back without tearing. This creates a butterfly hinge which is used to assemble the pull tab mechanism.

This butterfly becomes the mechanism for the slider tab. The pull tab is wrapped around the base template piece with the center slot cutout. The butterfly is put through this slot. The slider tab is folded over. The butterfly is put through the small slot on the slider tab and glued down. Be careful not getting glue in the slot. Pull the tab to test the slide before enclosing it in the box.

Final step is to fold over the template and glue into place making a think box for the pull tab.

BendyCard_PrintNCut The print and cut embellishments are designed to be printed on white cardstock. This will give each embellishment a white edge when glued to the BendyCard_Fence template. Using a permanent marker the same color as the BendyCard_Fence template or black, color the edge of all embellishment. If the embellishment is to be a 3D element, color the back also. Example: the black bat is glued only at the body area so the wings can be shaped to stand out.

BendyCard_Fence Apply the embellishments to the fence. Note that each fence is the same except for the silhouette of the monster embellishments. I like to use a wet adhesive when attaching the embellishments because it is more forgiving and allows moving the piece into place

Before the glue completely sets start rolling the embellishments into a half circle.

There are two score lines on each fence piece. Score the two lines and fold. This small area is attached to the edge of the card. The section with the cross bone gate is glued to the face of the card template. Repeat with the other fence piece and attach to the oposite side.

Each piece was shaped as half a circle. The end of the fence has a small tab which will fit under a fence post.

The card has two sides. Pull the tab for the card sentiment. Punch a hole in the pullup and add a ribbon to help pull the tab. From the top the card has a nicely balanced S curve.
