Department of Environmental Science
The Department has always strived towards the goal of a green campus. To

management. EVS has always tried to integrate mechanisms for
sustainability ranging from solar light to paper-recycling. Other highlights
of the year include: tree plantation, waste disposal, eco-friendly
gardening, reduction of carbon footprint, energy conservation and the use of
renewable energy. EVS students regularly organize cleanliness drives on the
College Campus and participate in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Tree plantation is a key initiative of the department. For the last two years, a
practice of planting a new tree on the Annual Day has been followed. The
department also maintains the front garden and the back compound
gardens. Disposal of segregated waste is another key initiative of the
department. It can be a real problem for the environment as it is non-
degradable and is highly toxic. Awareness programs and workshops are
conducted on a routine basis by the department.
