Page 1: Bacterial Persistence and Antimicrobial Therapy€¦ · knowledge on bacterial persistence and its impact on antimicrobial therapy. It will strive to unite basic researchon persistence

With the rapid spread of antimicrobial resistance, bacterial infections represent an increasingly urgent threatto human health worldwide. To be able to meet future health care challenges it will be mandatory to obtain acomprehensive understanding of the physiology and behavior of bacterial pathogens in vivo and of thecomplexity of antimicrobial therapy in patients. This international conference will focus on the currentknowledge on bacterial persistence and its impact on antimicrobial therapy. It will strive to unite basicresearch on persistence with clinical and applied efforts to control infections.
