General Rules

1. Every student must perform practical at

practical time. (Submission of practical work

at practical time is attendance for student)

2. No conversation as well as shouting

during practical time



3. All necessary instruments and materials

must bring to practical. (Lack of necessary

instruments and material during practical time

will be fined for 200 kyats. All necessary

instruments can be able to rent from department

with current price)

4. Perform practical right at described room

Instruments and Materials Needed

1. Wax or P.O.P. Block( 1.8” x 0.7” x

1” )

2. Apron( 1’ x 1’ )

3. Lecron and Wax-knife

4. Tooth Morphology Hand-out

5. Plastic Box to put ten carved teeth

6. (also 1.5” Paint Brush for sweeping

debris)

Making Landmarks on Block

• Vertically, bisect two successive

surfaces out of four surfaces



• Horizontally, divide into three equal

parts on vertical lines that have

drawn

• After marking guide lines

1. Labels on respective surfaces of block

as labial surface has known

2. Correct roll number

remove excess substances

according to reliable drawing

Substances aside of labial surface of

crown is first removed in upper third

region



Substances aside of labial surface of

root is then removed in middle third

region




After removing from both

two sides other than labial

aspect,

mesial surface is drawn

according to recently

marked labels of block




When viewing from mesial side;

Excess substances aside of labial

outline of crown is first removed in

upper third region




Secondly, substances

aside of lingual outline of

crown is then removed in

upper third region when

view from mesial aspect




Third, substances aside

of labial outline of root is

then removed in middle

third region when view from

mesial aspect




Finally, substances aside of lingual

outline of root is then removed in

middle third region when view from

mesial aspect




After all, approximate draft tooth form

model is obtained

After draft, tooth has to curve

meticulously from all aspects till

obtaining a perfect and right tooth

model

• Carve cervical line

• Carve lingual fossa and marginal

ridge , using round instrument

Complete the anatomy in details

and polish



Precautions1. Only wax carving must perform at practical

time

2. Label each five aspects at proper side of the

block

3. Write roll number at bottom side of the block

4. Submit the carved tooth model by self in own

plastic box before leaving the practical. This

submission model is your attendance for the

day

5. Plaster carving must perform at out-side of

practical time
