All budgetary announcementsfulfilled by Railway Ministry: Prabhu
MUMBAI, Nov 9:
Claiming that all budgetaryannouncements made in theRailway Budget this year havebeen fulfilled, Railway MinisterSuresh Prabhu today listed a slewof projects currently in the pipelinefor the country’s biggest employer.
Addressing a gathering of pub-lic representatives and railwaystaffers at Borivali train stationhere, Prabhu said, “Earlier, onlyannouncements were being made.But I made 103 budgetaryannouncements in our first full-fledged budget this year and I amhappy to tell you that we have ful-filled all of them.”
“Since I took over as RailwayMinister, we have upgraded thewebsite of IRCTC, launchedpaperless ticketing, allowedhygienic and cheaper water at sta-tions, allowed private caterers inrunning trains, (undertaken) clean-ing of toilets and railway premises,mechanised washing of linen, (ini-tiated) changing the internal
design of coaches, expanded therailway network, etc,” the ministersaid.
He was in the city to inaugu-rate a new Foot Over Bridge(FOB) and escalator at Borivalistation. He also performed ‘bhoo-mi pujan’ of a proposed deck atBorivali.
