Divisional CommissionerJammu, Dr. Raghav Langartoday visited LakhanpurCorridor to take stock ofCovid-19 control measuresand other amenities for in-bound travellers.

C Kotwal; DCTaxes Department, RanjeetSingh and other concernedofficers, the DivisionalCommissioner inspectedthe Control Room, Sam-pling Centre, TicketCounter, LMV, HMV cen-tres, Truck yard and tookfirst-hand appraisal of ex-isting mechanism forsmooth handling of trav-ellers while observing allCovid guidelines.

The Divisional Commis-sioner called upon the con-cerned officers to keep highdegree of vigil and ensurestrict adherence to SOPs atLakhanpur in view of recentsurge in Covid-19 casesThe Divisional Commissionerdirected Lakhanpur authorities tostrengthen the staff at the ControlRoom to ensure testing of all theincoming travellers. It was decidedthat testing of travellers going to

Samba, Jammu, Reasi andUdhampur districts will be done atThandi Khui, Samba whereas restof the travellers have to undergoCovid testing at Lakhanpur entrypoint.The directions regardingProper Circle Marking in front ofall Counters to maintain socialdistancing, Deployment ofmagistrates, operation ofInformation Help Desk, markingand proper Signage of counters,proper handling of biomedicalwaste and making adequate infrato handle Covid-19 related and nonCovid emergencies were given tothe officers for immediatecompliance.

The Divisional Commis-sioner directed the DCKathua to make adequatearrangements for isolation,administrative quarantineand notify paid quarantinefacilities for proper han-dling of Covid-19 positivepeople.

Dr. Raghav Langer calledfor keeping full track of allthe travellers and ensuremandatory disclosure of rel-evant information by all in-bound travellers at Lakhan-pur.

“Only those who are hav-ing negative RTPCR testingreport not late by 48 hrs willbe exempted for testing at

Lakhanpur,” RaghavLanger added.

Provision of backup foruninterrupted electricity atLakhanpur FacilitationCentre, proper cleanlinessand a dedicated Ambulancefor Lakhanpur and otheramenities were among theissues discussed during the

Advisor to LieutenantGovernor, Rajeev Rai Bhat-nagar today chaired a meet-ing to review the Summerpreparedness of Jal ShaktiDepartment for Jammu di-vision at Civil Secretariathere.

The Advisor took detailedreview of the departmentfocusing on water supplyscenario during the upcom-ing summer season as wellas monsoon season besidesin depth discussion washeld on the Action TakenReports of previously heldmeetings on the same mat-ter.

Highlighting that theLieutenant Governor is par-ticular about delivery of ser-vices to the public, the Ad-visor stressed upon theofficers that efficient ser-vices to the public should beresolve of public service de-partments on the ground.

He impressed upon themto focus on delivery, out-come and grievances re-dressal system so that peo-ple do not face any kind ofinconvenience.

Speaking during themeeting, Advisor Bhatnagaremphasized upon the offi-cers to provide uninter-

rupted water supply to thepeople besides making allpossible arrangements toprovide extra drinking wa-ter supply to the consumersduring the critical times ofCOVID-19.

He called upon the offi-cials to increase their visibil-ity on ground and takeproactive initiatives duringthe pandemic besides hav-ing a 24/7 complaint re-dressal mechanism to ad-dress the problems ofgeneral public.

Advisor Bhatnagar im-pressed upon the officialsto reduce time taken forrestoration of supply,close monitoring of com-plaints received onHelpline numbers, keep-ing reserve stock of criti-cal components, makingworkshops functional, im-proving quality of water

supplies and addressingissues of sedimentation.He also delved upon theofficers to ensure thattankers are effectivelyused to fill gaps of increas-ing drinking water supplydemand.

Highlighting the need ofextra water supply duringpeak summer season, theAdvisor directed the de-partment to put in place amechanism by which ade-quate supply of potablewater is provided to theconsumers in the areas,which record increase indemand in the summers.

He asked them to chartout provision for hiring oftankers to deal with anykind of eventuality duringthe peak summer season.

Advisor Bhatnagar im-pressed upon the officersthat there should be visi-

ble improvement in theplan of execution of vari-ous activities as comparedto last year. He askedthem that machinery andother necessary equip-ments should be main-tained and serviced well inadvance for effective use.

He also directed theconcerned Superintend-ing Engineers to sentmonthly progress reportsregarding execution of dif-ferent works.

Sharma, who expresseddeep sympathies and soli-darity with the bereavedfamily and paid tributes tothe deceased.

ficials of the Directorate ofAgriculture Jammu at-tended the condolencemeeting. Two minutes si-lence was observed to prayfor peace to departed soul.

ALIMCO, conducted an as-sessment camp of personswith Disability (PwD) “Di-

vayangs” here at Ramgarhto provide them differentaids and appliances.

A large number of per-sons visited the assessmentcamp, who were attendedby s team of doctors. A de-tailed assessment of eachdisability was determinedand recorded.

It was informed that thePwDs will be provided freeprosthetic aids based on to-day’s assessment during thecurrent financial year. ThePwDs welcomed the hold-ing of the assessment campsat their tehsil and expressedtheir gratitude to the districtadministration.
