INTRODUCTION
1. based on the fire hazard inherent in the buildings and strutures according to the occupancy , city or an area can be demarcated into different zones called “fire zone”.
NUMBER AND DESIGNATIONS OF FIRE ZONES number of fire zones in a city depends on1. excisting layout
2. types of building construction
3. classification of excisting building by occupancy
4. excpected future development of the city
In large cities - 3 zones necessary
In small cities - 1 or 2 necessary
ZONE 1 area having,
residential buildings (group A)
educational buildings (group B)
institutional buildings (group C)
assembly buildings (group D)
small business (sub division E 1)
retail merchantile (group F)
or areas which are under development for such industries
ZONE 2 these shall comprise:
Business (E1-E5)
industrial buildings (subdivision g1 and G2)
or areas under development for such occupancies
ZONE 3 these shall comprize areas having
high hazardous industries(subdivision G3)
storage buildings (group H)
buildings for hazardous use(group J)
or areas under development for such occupancies
restriction on type of construction building erected in Zone 1 shall conform to Type 1,2,3,or 4
building erected in Zone 2 shall conform to Type 1,2, or 3
building erected in Zone 3 shall conform to Type 1 or 2
