Historic Site (1839-1876) where after Lincoln’s assassination, his body lay in state in the
House chambers. The Illinois State Capitol built in 1868-88 extends more than three
blocks long. The murals and relief work inside the dome are a site to see. Statues
honoring Abraham Lincoln, adorn the grounds around to capitol. Then we will visit the

Lincoln ever owned and where he and his family lived for 17 years. Then we are off to the

Lawrence Dana. This home is one of Wrights major Prairie-Style houses and a must see.
After free time for lunch we tour Route 66 Klisch and Ace Sign Company, a 75 plus year
old company, with a museum of noteworthy signs. Our tour then takes us to Lincoln’s
Tomb. The cemetery is an impressive monument containing Lincoln’s tomb and the crypts
in which Mrs. Mary Todd Lincoln and three of their four children are
buried. Bronze tablets bear the text of the Gettysburg Address. (B,D)
