Dual Enrollment & High School Graduation
More than 90% of students who participated in dual enrollment graduated from high school within four years.
■ Since the 2012 graduating class, this percentage increased from 89.7% to 96.7% in conjunction with the significant increase in the number of dual enrollees.
■ The percentage of dual enrollment students eligible for free/reduced price lunch who graduated within four years increased more sharply, from 83.5% to 94.8%.

Q. Can a part-time Dual Enrollment student take a college physical
education course and have it funded through the Dual Enrollment program?
A. No, effective Fall 2017 only full-time Dual Enrollment students are
eligible for Dual Enrollment funding for a college physical education course.
Q. Is there a limit on the number of semester hours a student can take
through Dual Enrollment in a term and receive funding?
A. Yes, students may take a maximum of 15 semester hours through the
program in a term and receive funding.

GPTC Data Points ■ GPTC Dual Enrollment is trending upward. Our current Fall population
is 1024, this is 111% of last Fall’s total
■ DE Students average 8 credits a term
■ DE accounts for approximately 35% of the college population
■ Approximately 90% of students successfully completed courses in the 2017-18 academic year
■ Approximately 175 students earned a credential in 2017-18. Most awarded were AAS in Business Management, TCC’s in Welding and Cosmetology
■ Most common courses are ENGL 1101, 386 students currently enrolled. More than 550 enrolled in some English. MATH 1111, second most popular with 288 enrolled. Most common technical course path is Welding and Cosmo
■ Newest pathway in DeKalb is Fire Science. Partnership with DeKalb County Fire and Rescue. Nearly 40 students will complete two TCC’s and be eligible for hire at high school graduation

■ Program is open to all 9th – 12th grade students attending a participating Georgia High School or home study program
■ Students must provide minimum qualifying scores to be accepted into the program
■ Complete the funding application on Georgia Futures for financial aid
■ Attend the GPTC Dual Enrollment New Student Orientation
