Talk: Computational Systems Rehabilitation towards Inclusive Society
Abstract:Various types of concepts related with the future of people all over the world have been proposed, such as Inclusive Society, Healthy Cies, Society 5.0 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The concept of social integraon to create an inclusive society, “a society for all”, realizing a diverse and inclusive world that “leaves no one behind”, was established at the World Summit for Social Development in 1995. Furthermore, as the rapid progress on Informaon and Communicaon Technology (ICT) and Robot Technology (RT), various types of concepts on technological innovaon have been proposed, such as Cyber-physical Systems (CPS), Digital Transformaon, and Internet of Everything (IoE) to deal with and solve real-world problems. For example, IoE is composed of Internet of Digital or Data (IoD), Internet of Things (IoT) and Internet of Health (IoH). IoT devices realizes the real-me monitoring of environmental data distributedly in large-scale areas, while IoH devices measures human data including biosignals, behaviors and life logs. IoD plays the role of plaorm to deal with big data. In August 2019, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) established the Tokyo Data Highway Basic Strategy, a network strategy using the 5G next-generaon telecommunicaons standard, and began to develop the fastest mobile internet network in the world. In this talk, we talk about the role of computaonal approach and systems approach to care and rehabilitaon. The environment surrounding people should have a structured plaorm for gathering, storing, transforming, and providing informaon in IoE, that is called informaonally structured space. Next, we explain the computaonal systems care as a synthec approach for measurement, monitoring, anomaly detecon, personal model generaon, persona analysis and care support based on informaonally structured space. Furthermore, we also proposed the concept of computaonal systems rehabilitaon. Finally, we show several examples towards the inclusive society healthy city in this age of Society 5.0, and discuss the future research direcons of computaonal systems care and computaonal systems rehabilitaon.

Talk: Development of Series Welfare Robots and Key Technologies
Abstract:The aging of populaon is a major issue concerning the overall development and the welfare of people in the coming decades. It has become a long-term strategic task for the country to solve the problem of daily-life assistance for the elderly and the disabled. Considering the shortcomings of rehabilitaon and assisve robots in funcon, scene and safety, the Welfare Robocs Lab led by professor Yang develops series welfare robots (e.g. an omni-direconal intelligent wheelchair robot, an auxiliary standing robot, an auxiliary excreon robot, an omni-direconal transport robot, an intelligent bed, a service robot, a walking rehabilitaon training robot, a walking assistant robot and an intelligent arficial limb), which are aiming at common scenes in daily life. A smart house for assisng the elderly and the disabled is also established by combining with mul-source biological signal monitoring systems and sensor networks. In the future, the integraon of mulple welfare robots in the smart house framework is expected to be applied to hospitals, nursing centers and smart homes, which will benefit the elderly and the disabled with its intelligent safety assistance ability. The proposed design and control methods, and their theorecal achievements not only solve the core scienfic problems of the framework of series welfare robots and cooperave control strategies, but also conform to the major needs of the country and the main economic balefield, which is of great significance to improve the technical level in the field of helping the elderly and the disabled in China.

Organizer Info - Liaoning Shihua UniversityAs the first petroleum school of New China, Liaoning Shihua University (LSHU, 辽宁石油化工大学, http://www.lnpu.edu.cn) was founded in Dalian in 1950, relocated to Fushun in 1953 and renamed Fushun Petroleum Institute in 1958. When transferred to the governance of the Liaoning Provincial Government in February, 2000, the institution changed its name to Liaoning Shihua University with the approval of the Ministry of Education (MOE) in February, 2002. In March, 2010, a partnership agreement was signed between LSHU and Liaoning Provincial Government, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (SINOPEC) and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).
With the development for the past 69 years, LSHU has evolved into a comprehensive university, specialized in petroleum and petrochemical engineering with eight well-coordinated disciplines which include engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, education and art.
LSHU was graded as excellent in the 2007 MOE Undergraduate Teaching Assessment. Designated by the Ministry of Education, the university is now a training base for high-level ethnic talent and a preparatory base for ethnic undergraduates. Meanwhile it is a training base for urgently-needed undergraduate talent in petrochemical industry in Liaoning province.
Up to now, this university has turned out over 120,000 graduates for China’s petroleum and petrochemical industry, most of whom have become backbones in management and technology. To achieve quality development, LSHU highlights key roles in talent cultivation by upgrading disciplinary structures and teaching resources, which has now greatly improved teaching efficiency and comprehensive strength. The university covers an area of 1890 mu (126 hectare), and a floor area of 532000m2. The campus library houses 2.9343 million papers or electronic books and 42 research databases. Various sports grounds cover 92.700m2. The teaching and research facilities reach 68 million yuan. The university consists of a college and 16 schools with 52 undergraduate majors. On-campus full-time students total 18,400. It offers 2 joint doctoral programs, 14 first-tier master’s programs, 62 second-tier master programs, and 6 master degree programs including Master of Engineering (covering 10 fields), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Public Administration (MPA), and Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc), Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) and Master of Fine Art (MFA). It is also listed as a first-class discipline (Grade A) university in Liaoning province.
