Senior Physician Specialist, DrTsering Norbu, while sharing his life-long experience in the health sector inLadakh, gave a summary of healthstatus in Ladakh and its rural areas."There has to be will power with thepoliticians and bureaucrats to reducediseases like cancer in Ladakh," headded.

While acknowledging Dr Norbu's forcontribution in the health sector inLadakh, Rigzin Spalbar expressedgratitude to Dr Navdeep Singh forspearing time to give his advices toLadakhis.

The 'Kingdom of Dreams',popularly known world over asthe best entertainment placeand tourist spot in India-theultimate entertainment and

leisure destination, sprawlingacross acres of land inGurugram. The show is beingpresented with the support ofKunwar Viyogi Trust.

This play is believed to havebeen performed for the firsttime in 1961 in front ofElizabeth I even before it waspublished in 1623, seven yearsafter Shakespeare's death.

STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: State President BJP and MLA Jammu West SatSharma (CA) directed Chief Engineer System andOperation Wing PDD, Shiban Zutshi to immediately startthe 33/11 KV 10 MVA Subash Nagar Power Station withindays.

Sat along with officials of Power Development Department(PDD) inspected newly constructed power station in orderto review its status and to know that when the departmentis going to commission the same for public convenience.

Pertinent to mention, commissioning of this station willprovide relief to areas including Patoli, Rehari, SubashNagar, Sarwal, Vikas Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Shiv Nagar andother adjoining areas. Sat stated that earlier there was onlyone power station for whole area on which there was a dou-ble load and after commissioning of the same, a major loadwill be shifted to the new power station which will provide amajor relief to residents residing in the above mentionedareas. The Chief Engineer assured the BJP leader that thestation will be started as soon as possible and that too with-in days.

STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Public HealthEngineering (PHE) WorkersWelfare Association onThursday held a protest in sup-port of their long-pendingdemands.

A large number of PHEemployees and daily rated work-ers assembled in premises ofChief Engineer, PHEDepartment Jammu and raisedslogans against the anti-worker

policies adopted by the con-cerned authority.

They demanded regularisationof all daily rated workers(DRW) on the basis of length ofservice, completion of bio-metricsystem, disbursement of wagesmonth-wise, release of pendingwages and withdrawal ofimpugned order No. 227 ofdated 8th June, 2010.

Bakshi Singh appealed to theState Government to speed up

the regularisation process ofdaily wagers to avoid the furtherconfirmation. Subash Verma,Provincial General Secretary ofthe Association warned that ifthe demands of the employeesare not settled within 15 days,association will resume the sus-pended strike soon and for thatState Government will be heldresponsible for the conse-quences. Later, a charter ofdemands was submitted also tothe Chief Engineer PHEDepartment Jammu by the sen-ior leadership of the association.

The prominent office bearersof the association who addressedthe gatherings were Chuni Lal,Surjeet Singh, KuldeepSharma, Rajinder Kumar,Bansi Lal, Ravinder Singh,Ram Labhaya, KulbushanNanda, Kuldip Kumar, ChainKumar, Ravi Kumar, Lal Chandand Vikram Kerni.

Health employees of variouscadres assembled at ShashiBala Memorial Park here insupport of protestingFMPHWs. A complete shut-down was observed in JammuDivision except emergencyservices. All revenue generat-ing counters remained closed,even the OPD Slips are notissued.

Sushil Sudan PresidentJKMEF criticized the govern-ment for not addressing thegrievances of 2211 Heademployees who have beenstruggling for last many yearsfor the same.

STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The hunger strike byContractual Lecturers enteredinto 122nd consecutive day onThursday while SanjayKumar, Zabir Hussain Shah,Rakesh Kumar Khajuria andBalvinder Kour sat on chainhunger strike today.

These contractual lecturersare demanding their regular-ization as per the Civil ServicesSpecial Provision Act 2010, apolicy framed for the regular-ization of all the Ad-hoc/Contractual/ Consolidatedemployees after renderingseven years of services.

Arun Bakshi, President ofthe Contractual LecturersAssociation, said that they

were engaged vide order no.1584-edu. of 2003 and videorder no. 1328 of GAD,according to which all thecontractual lecturers are to becontinued till their regulariza-tion.

Bakhshi said that they will

continue the chain hungerstrike till their case for regular-ization is settled.

He appealed to the govern-ment not to harass them fur-ther and issue necessaryinstructions for their regulari-sation.

Kalsotra condemned the irre-sponsible and immature atti-tude of JKPSC of committingrepeated errors, discrepanciesover and over, and said thatsuch indiscipline and chaoticfunctioning of PSC cannot betolerated any more. Kalsotraeven suggested of disbandingwhole of the Board to set anexample to restore the lostfaith in such institutions and toensure that spirit of justice andhonesty prevails in the State.

Region (FINER), PabitraBuragohain who met him heretoday to discuss certain GSTrelated issues in the context ofthe eight North EasternStates.

During the meeting, the sub-ject of GST rollout from Julywas discussed in detail.Pabitra Buragohain expressedhis views on the GST and onthe tax provisions relating tocertain North Eastern indus-

trial products. He also alsosought certain clarifications.He, however, assured theMinister that the industry willfully cooperate in theGovernment's decision ofrolling out GST in Northeast.Addressing some of the con-cerns raised, Dr JitendraSingh disclosed that theremay be certain relaxationsand adjustments in the initialphase of GST rollout. He said, the connectivity / internetissues in Northeast are alsobeing adequately addressedfor successful implementationof GST in this region.

Singh said, GST will surelycontribute to the developmentand overall growth of theeconomy of the countryincluding the remote areas likeNorth Eastern Region by pro-viding 'One Nation, One Tax'regime.

R S Pura has huge potential for promotion of horticulture sector: Gagan

STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Accusing theJammu and Kashmir PublicService Commission(JKPSC) of selecting candi-dates on regional and reli-gious lines while ignoringthe deserving and competentcandidates, State President,Shri Ram Sena, RajivMahajan lambasted StateGovernment and BJP inparticular for responsible indiscrimination against theeducated youth of Jammu.

In a statement issued hereon Thursday, Mahajan saidthat JKPSC is adoptingbiased and unfair process toselect candidates for govern-ment jobs.

He added that such dis-crimination with the educat-ed candidates of Jammuand Ladakh has forced theBJP, which is the rulingalliance partner in the StateGovernment and adopt asilence over the issue, tovoice its concern against thediscrimination.

He said that if StateGovernment particularlyBJP is not capable to endsuch discrimination then itshould make separate PublicService Commissions forKashmir, Jammu andLadakh regions to deliverjustice to the educatedyouth of all the threeregions.
