Fun & Movement
Mass Activity
The children practised and continued to develop a variety of gross motor skills through different drills!
Agility – to weave in and out of the cones as fast as possible
Balance – Lifting the leg up high and cross over the cones
Coordination, balance, strength & jump – jumping over the cones with both feet
The Peace children were challenged to make consecutive jumps!

The little ones were given a little barrier where they have to cross over.
Bringing their leg upwards, pulling their knees nearer to their chest
to bring their feet high enough to cross the barrier without toppling it.

The Love 2 children were challenged to cross the barrier without holding on to the chairs!
Experience catching a ball that was bounced to them
And bouncing/throwing it back to the teacher for the Love 1s!

The Joy & Peace children began with jumping over the board and landing with both feet.

They then tried jumping hurdles!
Stretching their hurdling leg forward and over and making sure that the back leg
follows through without hitting the board.
The run from one board to the next help them to gain the momentum needed to jump hurdle.
This helps them to maintain the balance and coordination of their body as to not fall easily and improve
strength and agility.
Aesthetics (Cooking)
Our cooking sessions are always an integrated experience – not just about cooking and eating!
Much learning takes place (information acquired, skills, language; etc.).
The best is when the children are able to do the actual cooking for themselves ….
Nothing like being able to actually do it – see, touch and feel and the whole works of it ……
– the ultimate learning experience

Ingredients for our Hot Cross Buns - flour, cinnamon powder with a little butter
Dried yeast made into a mixture with egg & water
The Peace & Joy children made their own dough ; the Love children had the dough done for them
Cinnamon & yeast mixture are new for all –
“Go ahead, feel touch & smell ….”

Most if not all, have never done this – piping the “cross” on the buns …
with the icing sugar + flour in the piping bag
The “cross” didn’t turn out too well … but we all enjoyed the freshly baked, yummy HOT BUNs
The Peace & Joy had it with butter and the Love children had chocolate sauce / pancake syrup

Aesthetics (Music & Movement)
Passing a cup round the circle may be easy peasy!
But to pass the cup
concurrently with everybody, in a clockwise/anti-clockwise direction
is really quite different!
The children required practice to know
the direction to pass the cup
as well as to pass it at the same time.
