Technician Certification | 3UNIVERSITY
RegisteredRegistered Level is not Product-Specific. It exclusively consists of eLearning modules, including the assessment.
It establishes and confirms a Baseline Knowledge of technical principles, tools, and techniques.
Over time, we expect more than 80 percent of all Kubota Technicians to achieve this certification level. There will likely be a goal incorporated into Service Certification in 2022, so please make it a priority for every Technician to complete Registered level by the end of 2021.
Levels of Certification
MasterMaster Level courses focus on more complex diagnosis and advanced training in the following areas:
» Diagnosis of power-train concerns
» Diagnosis of computerized power-train controls
» Diagnosis and repair of hydraulic systems
» Development of Technician mentoring and leadership skills
The courses are designed to help Technicians to be able to tackle complicated customer concerns and to perform difficult or complex repairs, including component disassembly, repair and re-assembly. A hands-on testing element will be incorporated in the Master Level courses. Technicians completing these courses will be expected to perform high level diagnosis during the various Master Level Training.
Learning objectives include:
» Technicians will demonstrate the ability to use job aids and reference materials (particularly tools like KOBD-ACE and Diagmaster) to perform the above-listed tasks
» They will demonstrate a practical familiarity with the machines’ systems (Electrical/electronic, hydraulic, mechanical), both in terms of the elements that do the work and control the work
Master level courses are planned to begin late in 2022.
AdvancedAdvanced Level courses build product-specific skills that Technicians will apply regularly as they contribute in the dealership. Completion of the Advanced Level requires a passing score of 80% or higher on the Advanced Level assessment. Advanced Level Technicians will be expected to perform:

*Technician B wants to be Advanced Level Certified in Skid Steer & Track Loader:
Complete all Registered Level Courses and the Registered Level Assessment. Complete three Advanced Level courses in the Skid Steer & Track Loader
Certification path: » Technical Foundation: Skid Steer and Track Loaders » Construction Equipment Hydraulic Systems » Technical Foundation: Kubota Diesel Engines
For Example:Beginning in late 2021, Kubota University is planning limited deliveries of three Advanced Level Assessments for Technicians who have completed all of the courses in these three certification categories:
» Utility Vehicles » Skid Steer & Track Loaders » Excavators
In each of the categories listed above, all the required courses are ready and planned for delivery at Kubota Training centers throughout the remainder of 2021. Once a Technician has completed all of the courses being offered in a given path, and has also passed the Advanced Level Assessment, they become Advanced Level Certified in that category. A score of 80% or higher is required to pass.
The Advanced level Assessments will consist of a four-part test. Two of the portions will be fault based scenarios requiring hands-on diagnosis. There will also be a multiple-choice test and a station with electrical and hydraulic schematic analysis as well as an electrical breadboard circuit analysis. A thorough Technician Preparation guide will be available for Technicians to prepare for their test day enabling them to study all the areas where they will be tested. If a Technician pays attention in class, and applies what was learned, they should have no trouble passing this assessment. The entire assessment will correspond to what was learned in the various courses in each individual certification path.
