LIVE WRIGHT NEWS April 2012
Connect with Minnesotans who Support
Healthy Eating
A unique social media platform has been created for those
interested in creating a healthier food system for
Minnesota. We encourage you to take a moment to visit the
site and sign up if you would like. This is a place where we
can learn from what others are doing around Minnesota
and also take a moment to brag about the great things
happening in Wright County!
The journey of Live Wright has been a really wonderful
and rewarding experience, because of working with such
dedicated people in our communities. I was reminded ofthis recently when Karen Smith, FACS teacher with
Monticello Middle School emailed me to say that she was
asked to present about her Farm to School efforts at a
National Conference in Orlando!
Karen will be attending (all expenses paid trip!) the
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
(FCCLA) National Conference in July 2012 to speak with
students and teachers about her creation of a Farm to
School program that started within the setting of her FACS
classroom.
On behalf of Live Wright, Congratulations Karen! We are
all very proud of your great accomplishments. Let us
know how the conference goes and don’t be afraid to put a
plug (or 2) in for Live Wright!
