Steps to a Sustainable
Future
Mentoring Phase
During these three months the following group meetings
were realized: “Conflicts and how to solve the conflicts”,
“How to overcome mistrust”, “Self-acceptance”. Our group
meetings helped mentees learn how to make constructive
decisions, understand and overcome the cause of lacking
confidence, as well as to recognize, accept and like the way
their personality is and try to cultivate it.
“Lead me and I will follow you”
During these three months mentor-mentee pairs organized
two group meetings. This concluded our mentor-mentee
led meetings for the year. The presentations were: “Who I
am” and “Healthy living lifestyle.” Each pair prepared a
PowerPoint presentation and mentees presented with the
support of their mentors.
Skill Building Phase
The mentees of our Skill Building Phase learned
about different computer programs, practiced
those skills, and also gained other important skills.
During these three months the mentees prepared
their career plans, learned how to write and
prepare their course work, how to prepare Power-
Point presentations, wrote their CVs, and gained
skills in writing a cover letter. These skills will
help the mentees reach their career goals.

Mentoring Training
During these three months the new mentoring training was
started. New mentors participated in 6 meetings that revealed
their own personalities, learned about the role of a mentor in a
mentee’s life, what is the basis for a successful mentor-mentee
relationship, learned about the important steps for a mentor,
the responsibilities of a mentor, and also gained working and
communicating skills to use with their mentees.
Overall Group Meetings
The overall group meetings that were realized during these three
months helped our mentees learn about world famous women,
who brought big changes to the world, learned about how to
behave in different situations, learned to value each moment of
their life and try to make it happier, and learned also about their
dreams. We also organized an intellectual game “Who, what,
where.” During the game there was a mentee that was awarded
with “Smartest Mentee” prize. The winners got certificates and
small souvenirs.
Teaching is the best way of learning
Our Skill Building Phase mentees gained a lot of knowledge
and skills during these three months. Once they learned new
computer skills and practiced researching on the internet, they
prepared their own presentations. Our mentees organized
several group meetings for their peers. They presented their
career plans, as well as prepared presentations on a topic of
their choice. Their topics included: “The Art of Dancing,” “The
Lost Cities of the World,” “Sightseeing of Armenia,” “ The Gar-
den of Eden,” and “Planets.”

ticipated in it and got the third prize. One of our mentees, Arpine Termenjan, took part in the Young
Weightlifters Championship of Armenia and won the gold medal.
Congratulations Ladies!
