PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Greetings Fellow Old Car Enthusiasts!
Really looking forward to seeing everyone at our meeting on Tuesday, June
8 at 7 p.m. at the Mars Historical Society Train Station.
If you go to any cruises in the area, let us know at the meeting. It would be
nice if NHHAC members could park together, fly the club banner, and get
the word out about our wonderful club.
With much of the pandemic
sanctions lifted, my calendar is
filling in quite nicely for the sum-
mer with car events. Two that I
am really looking forward to are
the Mars Rumble and Rockabilly
Ruckus.
July 31 is the second Mars
Rumble from 3-9 p.m. We have
reserved space for the Club at
the Mars Library. You can stay for
the entire time, or whatever fits into your calendar. Cars can arrive at 1 p.m.
Another favorite show of mine is the Rockabilly Ruckus August 6-8 at the
Trumbull County Fairgrounds. We'll be there on Saturday August 7 for the car
show. Lots to do and see at this one! Folks taking their cars for a spin around
the dirt track, pinup girl contest, vintage displays, music, food trucks, and
about 1000 antiques, custom and just plain cool old cars and trucks and
travel trailers.
Hope to see you at the meeting!

The Corvette A retired older coupled returned to a Corvette dealership where the salesman had
just sold the car they had been interested in, to a beautiful, leggy, busty blonde in a
mini skirt and a halter top. The old man was visibly upset. He spoke to the salesman sharply, “Young man, I
thought you said you would hold that car till we raised the $85,000 asking price. Yet, I just overheard you close the deal for $72,000 to the lovely young lady there. And if I
remember right, you had insisted there was no way you could discount this model!” The salesman took a deep breath, cleared his throat and reached for a large glass of
water. Grinning, he sheepishly replied, “Well, what can I tell you? She had the cash
ready, didn’t need any financing help, and Sir, just look at her…how could I resist?” Just then the young woman approached the senior couple and gave the car keys to
the old man. “There you go,” she said. “I told you I could get that idiot to lower the
price. See you later, Dad, Happy Father’s Day!”
Once again…don’t mess with seniors. Thank you Hope Illsley for the submission!

Another Look-back Members were very active participating in many parades by invitation. Early year parades at
Perrysville Firemen, Berkley Hills Athletic Association, Laurel Gardens, and many others. In
addition to producing the NHHAC Show they attended shows in New Castle, Butler and Etna
to name a few.
Touring began about 1977. One of the earliest was by invitation with The Veteran Motor Car
Club of America to Hovis Museum.
In 1982 a Mystery Tour was held.
Excerpts below. What a creative tour!

Steve Illsley’s 1st Lunch/Garage Tour was held on Thursday, May 13th. The
sky was absolutely beautiful with fluffy white clouds and the temperature
was perfect. The back roads made it relaxing and the company was great.
Thank you to Cathy Paine and Judy Coco for the photos!
