• Blue Craft Foam sheet • Stapler • Oil Container template • Trace template onto the foam • Why I love Mom strips as shown

(can be typed or hand written)

1. Print the oil container template. 2. Make up some “Why I love Mom” strips

approx 4 per child. 3. Help children fill out the “Why I love

Mom” strips. Let them do some or you fill them in.

4. Cut into 1”x4” strips ( they may be able to do this by themselves).

5. Help them cut out the oil container. 6. Use this to trace shape on foam sheet. 7. Cut out the foam shape. 8. Staple both foam and paper oil containers

together but be sure to leave an opening for the “Why I love Mom strips”.

9. Add the strips to the opening so Mom can read whenever she wants.

10. Discuss with the children how the widow’s children might have felt.
