Howdy,
Please remember to pray for our 8th grade
graduates as we are getting close to graduation;
the Baccalaureate Mass will be next Sunday at
10:30 am. Also, please pray for all of our
parish students who are graduating or moving
on in their lives.
Father Miguel will be on vacation for the next
two weeks, but Father Ernesto, your new
pastor, will be around much of the time. We
have not put Father Ernesto on the mass sched-
ule but I am sure you will see him and have a
chance to greet him.
Peace,
Father Mike
No hemos incluido
Paz,
Padre Mike

Totus Tuus (Latin for “totally yours) was in-
spired by Pope St. John Paul II who sought to
bring people closer to Christ through devotion
to His Blessed Mother. The program is authen-
tically Catholic-with time spent attending daily Mass, praying
the Rosary, and learning about the Faith-and authentically fun,
with games, skits, songs, sports and even a water fight for chil-
dren on the last day.
The program is run by college-aged missionaries and seminari-
ans who embody the joy and life of Gospel and who have radi-
cally given their summer to the Lord. We will also need
volunteers to bring food for the missionaries daily for lunch
and dinner.

Are we willing to think of ourselves as sheep? If we
want the benefits of the Good Shepherd’s care, we must
be like sheep who “hear” and “follow” the voice of their
shepherd.
Sheep depend entirely on the shepherd’s care. They can-
not meet their own needs. But they recognize their shep-
herd’s voice and follow where he leads. When they
“hear” and “follow” all their needs are met and they are
safe from predators.
If we are his sheep, does this mean we are guaranteed
eternal life with Jesus? Yes, but only if we both “hear”
and “follow.” If a sheep in a shepherd’s flock begins lis-
tening to its own voice or the voice of a predator, he
leaves the safety and care of the shepherd. He puts him-
self in grave danger.
We choose whether or not to listen to the Voice of
Jesus—in His Church—and then we choose whether or
not to follow. We can foolishly be led astray. Our Shep-
herd will always come looking for us, of course. As soon
as we hear and follow Him, repenting of our wayward-
ness, we can once again enjoy the kindness and wisdom
of His love and receive the eternal life He wishes to give
us.
Let us pray. “Father, I know that no one else can take me
out of Your hand. Please help me be faithful to my
Shepherd.”
We offer a full program of Catechism Sessions for
grades Kindergarten-High School on Sunday morn-
ings.
Registrations for current and new families open May
27 and close June 28. Please call the Religious Educa-
tion Office for additional information.
