Download - Paper Weaving - Two Temple Place
You will need:
• Lined card/paper (use our template or draw your own)
• Variety of different
paper strips
• Scissors
• Glue stick
Paper Weaving
1. Fold your lined card or paper in half so that
the lines are on the outside. If you can't print
out the lined template, then draw equally
spaced lines on a piece of paper.
2. Starting at the fold, cut along the lines.
Be careful not to cut all the way to the
end of the paper - you need to leave a
gap of around 2.5cm at the edge.
3. When you unfold your paper you should
have lots of slits for weaving through. It
doesn't matter if these aren't exactly equal.
4. Take your first strip of paper and weave
it through the slits by putting it over one
and under the next. Continue this until
your strip is woven all the way across the
paper.
5. Move the woven strip to the top and then
move to the next strip. Weave it in a opposite
pattern to the first i.e if your first strip went
over and under the slits, the second strip
should go under and over the slits.
6. Continue weaving your paper strips in
an alternating pattern until you have
woven your entire page.
7. Carefully flip your paper so that the
back is now facing up. Apply glue at the
ends of each paper strip.
8. Fold the ends of each strip over
and press down to glue in place.
9.Turn over - you now have
your very own woven paper!
