minutes to go, a worried Arindam Sillooked around and asked, “Amar Satyabatikothay?” The reference, of course, was toSohini Sarkar, who plays ByomkeshBakshi’s screen wife in Arindam’s film,Har Har Byomkesh. Abir Chatterjee, whodepicts the detective, was quick to respond,“There’s a limit, Arindamda. Even Saty-abati is yours? Let her be happy as Byo-mkesh’s wife! But then, she’s your ghorermeye. Had I been late you would have made
a big hue and cry.”Such banter was a one of the
high points of the eveningwhere everyone was dres-
sed in Indian clothes. “Mydirector is always so
well dressed that I hadto buy a kurta to makesure Byomkesh canmatch up to him,”Abir quipped. At theadda over tea and cof-
fee before the trailer launch, we heard thecast members explaining how ‘jotno-sil’ thedirector had been towards his team.Tongue firmly in cheek, Nusrat Jahanasked around if her cup of tea would add tothe production budget.
“It was a ritual to chantHar Har Byomkesh afterevery scene while shoot-ing and here, too, wewill do the same beforewe watch the trailer.
