THURSDAY 15 OCTOBER 2015 CALCUTTA TIMES, THE TIMES OF INDIA 3 KOLKATA IS TALKING ABOUT T he trailer launch was scheduled for 5.30 pm on Sunday, but when one of the leads had not arrived with just 15 minutes to go, a worried Arindam Sil looked around and asked, “Amar Satyabati kothay?” The reference, of course, was to Sohini Sarkar, who plays Byomkesh Bakshi’s screen wife in Arindam’s film, Har Har Byomkesh. Abir Chatterjee, who depicts the detective, was quick to respond, “There’s a limit, Arindamda. Even Saty- abati is yours? Let her be happy as Byo- mkesh’s wife! But then, she’s your ghorer meye. Had I been late you would have made a big hue and cry.” Such banter was a one of the high points of the evening where everyone was dres- sed in Indian clothes. “My director is always so well dressed that I had to buy a kurta to make sure Byomkesh can match up to him,” Abir quipped. At the adda over tea and cof- fee before the trailer launch, we heard the cast members explaining how ‘jotno-sil’ the director had been towards his team. Tongue firmly in cheek, Nusrat Jahan asked around if her cup of tea would add to the production budget. “It was a ritual to chant Har Har Byomkesh after every scene while shoot- ing and here, too, we will do the same before we watch the trailer. The chant is the mantra that reflects our cama- raderie,” said Sohini. Once unveiled, the trailer brought forth a barrage of claps and wah- wahs!
