The Bear Rattle is great for making wrapping paper for a baby
shower gift. Stamp it randomly in pastel colors
on yellow gift wrap.
Check out discount stores for inexpensive wrapping paper in solid
colors and use it as a base for personalized gift wrap. It is much
more economical than buying special stamping papers.! Try making
your own gift bags. Iron together inexpensive gift wrap and freezer
paper. Form the bag by folding the paper around a box. Use a sturdy
glue to hold the seams in place. Add ribbon or yarn handles.

The baby quilt makes a great background onto which
other stamps can be mounted. It is also very nice used
alone as the front of a baby announcement. But howeve
you use it, Im sure youll agree that half the fun is
coloring it! Try coloring alternating squares for a
checkerboard look, alternate rows and columns for a
gingham effect, or random squares for a crazy quilt. Try
adding patterns like tiny hearts, stripes, or dots to some
of the squares. How about coloring in red, white, and
blue with little stars for Independence Day? Or red and
green for Christmas.

These stamps resulted from my daughters
fourth grade class trip to Sutters Fort in
Sacramento, CA. The children wereimmersed in history for several weeks
prior to their day and night at the fort.
They became people who lived at the fort
in the year 1848, learning about the lives
and travels of their characters. They
dressed in period clothing and lived like
the pioneers for a day and night. They
even got to ride in a real Calistoga wagon!
It was an experience none of us will ever
forget.

onto a card. Over stamp with a road (9829-e) in black ink.

It is almost too easy to create with these coordinated
stamps!
For a simple but VERY elegant seasonal greeting
card, use a burgundy card with an ivory or beige overlay.
On the overlay, stamp the Twelve Days saying (9823-k) in
burgundy. In the center of the overlay, gold emboss the
small partridge in the pear tree (9808-e). On the inside of
the card, gold emboss both the First Day (9821-e) and the
Joyous Season (9822-d) sayings. Make sure to emboss the
partridge (9826-d) on the envelope!
Stamp the large partridge(9824-h) on a card. Add a velum
overlay onto which the Twelve Days saying (9823-k) hasbeen embossed in white.
Gold emboss the large partridge (9824-h) on a sheet of heat
resistant acetate (overhead projector sheets made to
withstand the heat of a copier work well). Color with bold

Gung Hey Fat Choy is the traditional greeting for Chinese New Year. Traditional colors for this holiday are red and gold.
In its traditional parades filled with dragons and lions, this holiday is known for children carrying lanterns and for the
setting off of thousands of firecrackers. Small red envelopes with coins inside are often given as a token for good luck.
The Chinese calandar has a several year cycle with animals as symbols of each year. These animals are the hare, goat or
sheep, rat, horse, dog, pig, snake, rooster, monkey, dragon, tiger, and ox.

them on card stock and

other gets forwards. They
also made some out of shrink

Even Lawrence Welk never knew
bubbles were this much fun! The
bubbles can be simply bubbles when
used with the bubble wand or as
bubbles coming up out of water. Or
they can be bubbles coming out of a
glass of soda or champagne. Or how
about out of a scary witchs brew?
They also make a terrific backgroundtexture when stamped repeatedly and
randomly. Used on their sides they can
be used as rocks and pebbles along a
path or at the edge of water in a beach
scene. Turn the small ones upside down
and they can be a tall blooming flower
in your garden scene. Use the small
bubbles as suds on a tub or a glass of
beer. If you have only the large bubble
and you need small bubbles for your
project, use only the low end of the
stamp by coloring only the smallest
bubbles with a water-based marker.
The easel can also be used as a
stand for a sign. Stamp

message on it!

Create an interesting border on your card by
stitching it on your sewing machine, with or without
thread.
If you have a computer you can easily create your
own panel cards like the one to the right. I created
this one with the dashed line border of my table
handler in my word processor.
The Trick Or Treat on the panel card was stamped
using the pick and omit method... one
word at a time!
The samples on the next page were created with the following Stamp Oh! Mania stamps:

This switch plate was made by first painting the brick
background then adding the stamped images with glue.
The whole thing was then treated with a matte sealer.
This garland was made by
stamping the hearts on white
20lb bond paper with red
ink. They were bubble cut
with another layer of paper
behind them. The two layers
were glued together around
the edges, with a cotton ball
between them. They were
strung with raffia.

Fold the top layers right corner to the center of the baseline.
Repeat with the top layers left corner. Turn over and repeat.
Open and then collapse each of the little flaps just created into the center of the mechanism.
Glue the mechanism into the card so that the point just touches the fold.Add glue to the top of the mechanism, then close the card so that both of the inside surfaces of the card are attached to the
mechanism.
When dry, open the card to see the explosion.

Splongee Tool
I call this tool a Splongee because that is what my
daughter named it when she was 4 years old!
Stamping with a Splongee was a fun thing to do
with her, and gave me great background paper, too!
Make a simple tool for creating fabulous
backgrounds.
Make a bundle of about 25 rubber bands. Try a
variety of widths, or stick with just one.
Different combinations will make a subtledifference in stamping.
Tightly tie the bundle with another rubber band.
Trim off the loop ends of the bands with a sharp
pair of scissors.
Ink the ends on a stamp pad as you would a
stamp. Stamp repeatedly onto paper. Re-ink as
needed.
Try tone on tone techniques, use a single color,
or stamp a rainbow..
Stamp lightly, or repeatedly for heaviercoverage.
Youll be amazed at the different backgrounds
you can create!
Faux Shadow StampsTo make a perfectly sized shadow stamp for any
of your stamps, cut a piece of white craft foam
to the size of your mount.
Trim it just a little smaller than the block using
either deckle edge or straight scissors.
Mount onto the back of your stamp using double
sided tape.
You can ink and stamp as you would with anystamp,
Play with the shadow by inking more heavily
around the edges, or only on the edges.

You can make the edge more interesting bytaking out some small nicks or by making it a
bit wavy.
Craft foam shapes can also be used to createinteresting shadows. Think about shapes you
can cut with your die cut machine!
I keep shadow stamps on the backs of some of my
stamps all the time since I really like to use them
with shadows. When I store these stamps, I storethem on my shelf rubber side out.

A Dozen Quick CardsInk the shadow side of your large stamp with the shadow color. Stamp it centered
horizontally, near the top of the card (the margin on the top should be about the
same size as the margins on the left and right).
Ink the rubber side of the large stamp with your main ink color. Stamp in the
center of the shadow.
Ink the rubber side of the saying stamp with the main ink color. Stamp centered
in the white space below the shadow.
Using stipple or stencil brush or makeup sponge and accent color, add a touch of
color to stamped main image. Remember, you arent trying to color it in fully,
just adding a sense of that color.
Glue bow to lower right corner of the shadow.
Place a rectangular self-adhesive note on a card at an angle so that it all
fits on the card, and so the corners are close to the edges, but not
touching them.
Stamp repeatedly around the card, stamping both onto the note and off
the edge. This will form a frame.
Stipple or sponge a little color over the stamped images, all along the
edges of the post-it note so that the ink will form a line.
Take the self-adhesive note off the center of the card, but line it up so
the bottom edge of the note is at the top edge of the center rectangle. .
Ink and stamp an image 3 times inside the frame, but make one of the
images trail off the top edge onto the adhesive note.
Attach a bow on the lower right corner of the front of the central
rectangle.
Stamp a large image in the center of the card.
Stipple or sponge an accent color onto the image to add interest.
Place a square self-adhesive note over the stamped image at an angle, covering as
much of the image as possible, but making sure the note fits entirely on the card.
Splongee the main color all over the front of the card, making sure to go over the
edges of the note.
Splongee with the accent color all over the front of the card, filling in any light areas.
Glue on the bow centered on the bottom of the square masked area, just below the
mask.

Turn the card so the fold is at the top.
Place a piece of scrap paper across your card at a random angle, making
sure the paper extends fully across your card and off the edges.
Stipple or sponge ink in onto the card along the edge of the piece of
scrap paper, making the color darkest along the paper, but fading out
away from the paper.
Change the angle of the paper and repeat the stippling/sponging process.
Continue changing the angle and stippling/sponging color until there is apleasing pattern of lines and shaded areas.
Using the scrap paper close to the edges of the card, stipple/sponge a
border.
Stamp a large imageslightly off center toward the top left.
Affix a bow to the lower right part of the card.
Hold the card so the fold is at the top.
With your ruler and pencil, lightly draw a straight line across the car
about an inch and a quarter from the bottom. Cut al
