DESIGN STRATEGIES:• Reposition the landfill as a regional park
asset: a powerful teaching tool, marker of relationships with the earth and impetus for change
• Interpret: Reveal the hidden ecologies + histories of the site + surroundings: Natural + Human
• Create a landscape fusion contrasting free-form naturalistic plantings with strong linear allees and hedgerows
• Delineate outdoor rooms, organize spaces and frame views with bold, graphic masses of plant material visible across the large site
• Link and stitch together disparate areas of the park to make circulation connections
• Separate pedestrians, equestrians, cyclists + vehicles to minimize conflicts in tight areas
