RecentResearchactivities:
ThepaintingofSaulandDavidbyRembrandt(c.1652,Mauritshuis)wasexaminedwithamobilemacro-XRFscanner.TheNi:Coscatterplotsmadeitpossibletodistinguishbetweenthecobaltdrierfromalateraddition(magenta),andtwovarietiesofsmaltthatcorrespondtodifferentstagesinthepaintingprocess(redandgreen).
Paintreconstructionsweremadetostudytheeffectoftheuseofsmalt,acobalt-containingglasspigment,inRembrandt’spaintmixtures(incollaborationwithUvAMasterC&R).

Macro-XRDmeasurementsoftheJewishBride(c.1665)werecarriedoutin-situ,atthegalleriesoftheRijksmuseum,December2015,incollaborationwithresearchersfromTokyoUniversityofSciencethathadbroughttheirportableequipment.Wewereparticularlyinterestedinthearsenic-containingpigmentintheyellowsleeveofIsaac.
