MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS
Adobe PDF is preferred. Resolution for all images must be 300 dpi
at actual size. All files must be CMYK, files in RGB or containing spot
colors are not accepted (please convert everything to CMYK before
submitting the final files).
For optimum final result recommendations are for images and colors
containing no more than 240% total ink density to adhere to our
newsprint specifications. Please allow for dot-gain of 35% in screens
of 50%. (This will be helpful when considering image contrast
which should be increased as well as color choice which should
be lighter than you may think).
All layouts should be designed in vector-based software
(Adobe InDesign / Illustrator, Quark XPress) to ensure hyperlink
capability for our virtual readers (make sure to include the
www prefix in your web domain name). We do not accept any
designs created in Microsoft applications.
Simply Buckhead will make every effort to match color requests,
but guarantees only to come within SWOP-industry standards.
Smallest type for newsprint is 8 pt, 12 pt for knockout text.
