Sacramental Preparation: According to the Archdiocesan
Office of Religious Education Policies and Guidelines, Sacra-
mental Preparation and the celebration of Sacraments belong
to the home parish. Therefore, children attending Catholic
Schools are required to attend the Sacramental Preparation
Classes at their Church along with those attending Public
Schools. For more information see the Coordinator of Reli-
gious Education, Mrs. Cheryllyn Branche-Baker. What is RCIA? The Rite of
Christian Initiation of Adults is an
opportunity for those who have an
interest in the Catholic faith to
come and discover the truths and
teachings of the Church. Through
the RCIA program, participants
are given a period of time to study,
pray and reflect on the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Through this journey each participant makes a commit-
ment one step at a time leading up to the Easter Vigil
where the Sacraments of Initiation are received. This
ancient Rite has been passed on from the early Church
when the first Christians were received into the faith.
The RCIA program is for persons in need of baptism,
persons baptized in another Christian faith but are inter-
ested in becoming Roman Catholic, and persons bap-
tized Catholic in need of First Communion and/or Con-
firmation.
RCIA classes meet Sunday mornings during the school
year. If you or someone you know is interested in RCIA
or more information about the Catholic faith. Please
contact the Parish Office or see Mrs. Cheryllyn Branche-
Baker.

The First Annual Teacher’s Back to
School Supply Giveaway. Generation
Success had a great turn out for the
teacher school supply giveaway. More
than 30 teachers came over to the St.
Gabriel Parish Hall on Saturday, Au-
gust 3, 2019 and received needed
school supplies for the upcoming
school year. A number of the teachers were surprised that the
supply drive was for them. The teachers were truly apprecia-
tive of the event. Generation Success would like to thank,
Anna Villanueva, DNP, APRN, FNP-C and Broque Thomas
PTA, for providing health screenings. Generation Success
would like to also thank L’KREWE for providing the funding
for the continental breakfast at the event.
