AMTROL PURGE VALVES purge air from hot waterheating systems. they are a bronze combination bal-ance and purge fitting. AMTROL Purge Valves serve as
balancers by adjusting diverter todesired restrictions.
Diverter stops flow before it entersthe Purge Valve so water will movein one direction through the piping,purging air from the system as wateris removed from the drain andreplaced by automatic fast fill valve.
Balance is indicated by the leverlocation which shows the exact posi-tion of the diverter inside. See Fig. 1.
The diverter stem packing is heat resistant and doesnot have to be removed when connections are being soldered.Maximum Operating Temperature = 250° F Maximum Working Pressure = 125 PSI
AMTROL BALANCERS are precision-machined valvesdesigned to control the flow of liquids. Individual lineswithin the system will then received desired amount of
liquid.
Balance is indicated by thelever (1) location. The leverturns the precision-fitteddiverter (4) in the valve bodyto reduce the flow throughthe valve. See Fig. 2.
